Solution to a Chat Problem

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before or not, but I came up with an idea that would come in handy regarding to a particular situation I went through last night.

Problem:

I wanted to play with a friend, but he left his controller at another's house. He had a backup controller, but said controller did not have a headphone jack. We ended up FaceTiming each other to communicate during games, which wasn't bad thankfully.

Solution:

Figure out a way to chat with others by plugging your headset into your smartphone via the Xbox One app.

If this were to be a thing in the future, it would:

* Allow for anyone with a live account to join in on parties even when their physical xbox is off, via smartphones. (Chat with friends while at the library, dog park, or anywhere)

* Allow for much easier text communication. (We all hate typing on their default keyboard with a controller)

* Eliminate the headset to controller cord. (Helps all without wireless headsets)



The 'headset plugged into my phone while in my pocket' combination was phenomenal. I could send messages with a breeze now,

but most importantly, I could set my controller down and walk around without losing communication with others.

In theory it seems like a great idea to me. If anyone has anything to add please do!

Xbox One Chat Problem - SOLUTION!!

I had the problem with my chat that caused no two people could enter chat in party. Turns out, for whatever reason I had my Game DVR turned off in Settings > Preferences > Game DVR. I checked the box and that sorted it.
