Solo Gaming vs Multiplayer Gaming

Well most of the time I go the route of multiplayer, because I play often with my friends. Lately it's been GTA V. I want to get back into playing more solo games though.

Why Are Some Older Gamers So Grumpy?

Hello everyone

I recommend that when an individual is "grumpy", they do something relaxing first before playing because gaming in an angry state can get ugly fast.

With that being said, please keep in mind that I'm a 95% solo gamer & 5% multiplayer gamer (Cooperative Modes only, I have PvP Modes) and I can only imagine that gaming in an angry state in a multiplayer game is probably a really bad idea.

Why do we compare BF3 and MW3?

In gaming its as natural as rival football supporters, to have gaming series rivalries, we still have gaming platform rivalries. Although in all honest, the CoD Vs Battlefield comparison is one mostly created by marketing companies and is about as pointless
as comparing Snooker to pool....its not the greatest rivalry out there.

Back in the day when Fifa was starting to improve on its quality as a football game, Pro Evolution Vs Fifa was a fantastic rivalry with a legit sales battle on their games release. Street Fighter Vs Mortal Kombat, Sonic vs Mario, GTA Vs Saints Row, Nintendo
Vs Sony then became Xbox vs Playstation, Game boy Vs Game Gear Vs Atari Lynx for original handheld gaming etc

Its the natural thing to do, to compare one thing against another....its not always an attempt at Fanboy flaming, although thats what it is at its basic level lol

 

I looooove coop modes and would prefer to play those over versus. I used to love versus, but it got to this point where all most games versus modes felt the same with small variations, very repetitive.

Though nothing really beats an immersive single player experience, the ones that make you forget you're just a lowly mortal playing video games and lose yourself in the fantasy of whatever character you're playing.

 

I am mostly a single player and co op modes kind of gamer.

 

Mainly SP but I do like to engage in a bit of jolly cooperation!

 

Played MMO's for years and over them. I still like to get into the odd Halo arena match with random's though. I played on PvP servers in MMO's at first then moved to PVE so yea I'm getting too old for that now.

PvP is actually quite fun if people play fair and clean but most people don't anymore since modding and hacking became more of a thing.

 

It really depends n my mood. I enjoy both and actually love having a good mp game to play but I haven't found much that really sticks to me like they used(loving PvZ Garden Warfare though).

As far as coop and versus go, I'd actually take a really good versus mp over a coop one. Unfortunately, both are tacked on needlessly.

 

Hey Lei Fang, I used to love multiplayer when Quake 2 and UT was new, only stopped playing cod constantly in the last 2 weeks. However, I played allot of online with DS2 SOTFS and it was amazing. So it depends on the game I guess and also the age group of

95% solo. I'll play coop every once in a blue moon. I think most older gamers 35+ prefer solo gaming because that's what we grew up with. I think it's the younger generation of kids now that are afraid to do anything on their own. They need that social aspect
of multiplayer because they are less socially adept face to face now a days. Everything needs to be through social media like XBL Wastebook and Twitter among others.

Come one man thats a huge generalization. I get what you're saying but its not like SP games out the window cause everyone needs to be playing with someone.

Though you're probably right on the connectivity thing.

 

Solo gamer, and sometimes a coop gamer.

Reasons..

1) Bad rep. A one handed gamer just can't compete, so people don't want you partisipating in their games, even if its random. I can understand that.

2) Set-up lobbies. Or what I now call. UbiNarks. Ever since I heard about cheaters setting these up, even in random matches, in order to have people banned for not reporting. I am actually afraid to even look for a game online as I am no Rat, nor will I
be provoked even by policy into being one.

3) They nerf everything weeks/months after release and that takes away from the game and gives that much more of the advantage over to Pro's. Halo 4 nerfing the DMR etc is a prime example of this.

Thus I swore off gaming online, and learned to enjoy campaign gaming. Which means I won't be getting Destiny even if it and all its DLC is 1 dollar. Yet I would have loved to play the entire game.

I play a few games like borderlands ,minecraft,gta.which i play solo-sense no friends to play with

But some games i play online like warframe,neverwinter

Once blackops 3 is out then most my time there till i get bored of the game

 

I prefer a great single player experience but I also like co-op in some games as well.

 

I'm 100% playing "good/great" games.Solo and /or multiplayer it doesn't matter.
