‘Solitary Warfare’ Will Not Have Solo Queue Or Ranked Play At Launch

The Coalition has announced that Solitary Warfare will not have a solo queue mode and will not be launching with a ranked mode.

Where developers were have about the impending launch. One topic that has been spoken about a lot by the community was the need for a solo queue, a matchmaking queue where no parties are allowed and all players will be on their own, not with friends.

However, the development team has confirmed that the solo queue will not be coming to anytime soon. The same also goes for a potential duo queue.

The team said that when it comes to the data there doesn’t seem to be too big of a difference when smaller parties come up against full teams of five, therefore making such a queue a little pointless and surplus to requirements.

However, just moments after the developers, were interviewed and said that they would like to see a solo queue to stop them having to play against full teams of five. The community has also been vocal about their similar feelings on this, so if that sentiment
continues we could see developers have to change their mind on this decision.

Elsewhere the dev team also confirmed that ranked play will not be available at launch despite being available in the beta. This is so that new players will be able to learn the game without having to go into ranked matches. At launch many would want to
go into ranked games as soon as possible, which would lead to many players playing the competitive mode while still learning the game, which would create a less than ideal situation for more experienced players on their team. By holding ranked back for a while
it gives everyone time to learn the basics.
