Solitaire won't open at all

HP Envy PC Laptop running Win 8.1... been playing Solitaire for over a year, with the occasional MS apps glitches encountered & repaired.
For the past two days Solitaire will open the intro window for a brief second then reduce to its icon in the margin - no time to check settings for it... IOW unplayable. Have run the MS app troubleshooter, it showed only a 'sign in' problem had been
detected & 'resolved', however my sign in has & is working fine for all other MS apps. Double checked for app updates, nothing for Solitaire. Mahjong had exactly the same problem for about a day, but started working fine shortly after I sent in an MS app
troubleshooting report for both Mahjong & Solitaire. All other MS game apps appear to be working as they should. I've checked & run all the usual checks for possible culprits on my PC - no problems. This appears to be an MS app problem AFAICS & IME.

Solitaire Won't Open

Since October 1, 2016 I can't open any of my Microsoft Casual games. The screen opens, and then closes without opening the game. I've checked my Norton firewall, permissions are correct for all the games. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Xbox app on Windows 10 won't launch

Even after the latest Windows updates and restart the Solitaire Collection won't open.

 

This is definitely unusual. Have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app? Be sure to clear your store cache before you reinstall. To do that, press the Windows Key + R and type in wsreset.exe and then Enter.

 

Thanks for the response. I'm hesitant to do a reinstall as I'll lose my hard won achievements... silly really, it's only a game. But before I try a reinstall, something new to add to the mystery: I tried opening my MS Games app just to see if Solitaire
showed up at all in my list... it opened then immediately opened another window asking for my password; after entering my PW the window went to the loading live indicator & then stayed there! Did a restart & retry a couple of times with no change... but
after clearing the store cache it, so far, seems to be behaving properly again (shows Solitaire with my 100% achievement rating BTW :::sigh::... sadly not the same result with Solitaire... still immediately zaps shut to the wee 'ready' tile in the margin.
Any help in that additional info or am I doomed to reinstall?

 

I am having the exact same issue. Now it is telling me I need to renew my license? Same for Majong..

 

Well I did as Helen suggested & Solitaire is now working again! And the uninstall/reinstall did restore my achievements, etc., although some needed to be prodded into reappearing by using the 'Show History' button.

@INEEDAKIXFIX: I noticed when in Games Store, Settings, that there was an option for 'License'. Think it suggested resyncing, not sure about that though as licensing doesn't seem to be a problem for me... so far... :::fingers crossed::: Hope that's
of some use to you.

Excellent! The achievements, etc. are stored on the cloud in your Xbox account so that's why all your achievements are still there. I'm glad it worked for you and you're very welcome.

 

The only indication I received that this app has to be installed again;
