    Sold Xbox with gamertag on it


    Hi guys,

    Sold my xbox one with my gamertag on it so he could use it till he creates his own, no big deal no security issues or anything but im just wondering after a while if someday i buy a new one, is there a way i can remotely remove it from that xbox one? it
    didnt have a password on the xbox itself so was just autologin when started.

    On the other hand, my bud in Canada still has it (I sold it to him), so maybe he can help me out with the gamertag?

    Well it wouldn't be my home console cos I would of sold it to somebody else with their own gamertag

    Currently there is no way to remotely remove an account from a One. You can change the password of the account, but with auto-login it's possible he will still be able to sign in.

    You should know that it is a violation of the code of conduct to give your account to someone else. So you are putting the account at risk for being banned as well.

    I wasn't aware it was really that hard to create a gamertag.....

    Also, you know if the guy does anything with that account while using it, you're still deemed responsible right? So even if he "does give it back" if he gives it back banned....you're out a gamertag anyways.

    It's hard to come up with a totally unique GamerTag with 70,000,000+ 360s sold to date.

    Getting rid of inactive accounts so those gamertags on those accounts will be available to use

    Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live so you can't know if a tag is being used or not.

    The last time gamertags were released a lot of them were snapped up & then sold so Microsoft stopped releasing them.
