Sold TF, bought it again...

you problem is what most CoD players fall into is they do not adapt well to other games they seem to think that if they are good at CoD they should be good at all FPS, this is not true, but you can take some of the things you know and apply it to TF think
of it this way, it's CoD only with wall running jet packs and large walking tanks, attack re-position attack and repeat and remember you can be attacked from any anywhere and from a greater distance than in a CoD game.

it will take time to learn the maps, do this and you will have no troubles.

I am bad at CoD, mediocre at BF, but I seem to be pretty good at Titanfall. I think it's just because I can use my brain to win just as often as my reflexes. I'm not a great twitch shooter, but I can bust titans with the best of them.

 

IMO I feel Titanfall is a much faster paced game than cod, because you have to also think vertical. This game may even improve your performance on cod. I'm personally tired of cod, and this is something fresh.

 

its a freaking game. You got to learn to adjust and all this other crap. Are you serious.? Taking gaming a little to dam serious. It would help if you people stop comparing every dam game to COD. Cod Vs. BF, Cod vs TF. COD vs Peggle. WTF.

I personally believe this is one of the better shooting games I have played in a while. However, I am already Gen 10 and don't really have anything else extra to do with the game. Just playing the game modes without challenges, etc. can become boring. I
am hoping they add some good add ons in this new update.

 

If I could go back to when I first got the game, I'd switch the control scheme to "bumper jumper". I'm gen 10, level 50 now and I've tried switching to that control scheme, but I'm too used to using A to jump.

If you watch videos of the best PC players - people like FrothyOmen - you'll see how important parkour is to being a really outstanding player. On the PC it's easier because your left hand does all of the movement stuff, while your right hand does the aiming
and firing (plus it's easier to aim with a mouse), but with the default control scheme on the Xbox, if you press A to jump then it means your right thumb isn't on the right stick, so you're not aiming. Ideally, you want to be able to get good at the parkour
and be able to accurately aim and shoot while you're doing it.

Even with the default controller setup, the parkour makes a big difference though, both in terms of speed in getting from one point to another and in making yourself a hard target to hit. That definitely made the game more fun for me.

Likewise with titans, playing to their individual strengths makes a difference too. When I first start playing, I used either the Atlas or the Ogre and when I got into a scrap with another titan, I'd be pretty static, just taking pot shots at the other guy.
Now I use the Strider and the plasma railgun - the slowest weapon in the game when it comes to rate of fire - and I'll dash around the enemy titan making myself hard to hit, while charging the railgun to the max. Again, I think that play style is another good
reason to go with bumper jumper as you can dash with LB and keep aiming with the right stick, rather than having to stop aiming for a second to hit A.

As others have said, I'm not sure that playing it like it's COD is a good idea. I found fun in the game by trying to play it as it was designed to be played, which made me appreciate the map design even more. I'm not a great player now by any means, but
I'm having a lot of fun with it still!

 

Being vertical extends your lives/streaks. The best players tend to look down at the battlefield, and use extensive wall running to get around. Riding friendly titans offers protection and it's easier to survey the map. Last but not least is dying a lot.
Game tends to put lower gens up against vets and the better team is the one that wins.

 

I really enjoy the game, but i find that it loses connection far too easily - and winning MP games is really hard - trying for the capture the flag 50 wins is taking me ages lol
