Sold game code to eBay scammer

Had this issue a few years back, unfortunately ebay lands on the side of the buyer. Though the buyer said the code was already redeemed in my case. Personally after that ordeal, I would never sell a digital code on ebay, to easy to fall victim of this
kind of theft/fraud and it is your word against theirs.

Gotcha. Yea nothing eBay can do as far as removing the game or banning his account. Just thought I'd give it a shot, thanks anyway!

The best course of action would be getting together with the other sellers and each sending a complaint, against that account and detail the user names of each seller affected. They (ebay) may recover money, they may look deeper at this buyer but they
would probably ban the account at the very least.

That's a good point. They actually may side with the buyer.

Hi George, I have just become victim in this exact same scenario. A chargeback request has been made, and paypal are investigating. I sold a Forza 4 Digital code i received with my new xbox one s. To follow this thread along, there must be a trail, as this
is digital theft.

The code has been redeemed, so i am wondering in what instance can Microsoft/xbox provide the user details for the code that was redeemed. I have a copy of the original code that would have been used, so if i need to pursue via small claims court this information
would be important.
