    Software Bug in Microsoft minesweeper Adventure


    There would appear to be a software bug in Minesweeper which if it catches you out may mean you can;t play Minesweeper again. It happens if you shut down Minesweeper and you still have arrows and keys that you have not used. I have had the problem when I have inadvertently closed down the App with unused arrows keys, logged off the computer and then started the App the next day. The arrows and keys have disappeared and unless you can find enough mines to "kill" yourself the before you need to use an arrow or key the game is stuck. Uninstall/install and resetting game options doesn't make any difference. Your game details of where you are and your scores etc are stored in the clound and appear to be inaccessible to you. If anyone knows a way to access the cloud storage the comunity needs to know as the only way I can see of being able to play Minesweeper under these circumstances is for the game details to be deleted from the cloud. I am trying to find a way to register this bug with Microsoft.

    Hi there is a bug in minesweeper adventure when you get to higher levels and above 2 billion in score where the game starts counting backwards officially killing the game for the players. Is there a fix for that?

    Are you referring to Treasure Hunt (the standalone app) or Adventure Mode (the mode within Microsoft Minesweeper)?

    Minesweeper crashing on Adventure...

    I am seeing the same problem. Relatively new 8.1 install. Minesweeper adventure worked for a few days and then stopped. I removed the app and reinstalled it and it worked again. For a few days...

    Today I created a new local account, tied it to the same Microsoft account in order to install the game.

    It installed and ran adventure fine.

    So I signed out and signed into my normal account. Minesweeper Adventure still fails.

    Get the splash screen. Click on Adventure and it bring up the green load screen for about 4 seconds then back to the Windows startup screen. The task manager still shows Minesweeper running.

    This appears to be a resource issue tied to the user account.

    Adventure won't start

    solved it by:

    1. Closing minesweeper.

    2. Navigating (in file explorer) to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftMinesweeper_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    3. renaming LocalState (to LocalStateOld).

    4. starting minesweeper (error logging on to xbox live)

    5. start adventure, click past tutorial, close mine sweeper.

    6. undo rename LocalState (back to LocalState).

    7. Start MineSweeper and play adventure, click past tutorial.
