    soft reset, external hdd still attached


    I followed directions for a soft reset of my Xbox one from a website(I now see I should have come to microsoft.com), and it did not say to remove the external hdd from the console before doing so. how screwed am I? the Xbox reads that 1TB os data space has been used but cannot access it.

    You can use external HDDs with the 360. Only 32GB of the HDD will work, but you can still use them. And your slim drive is meant to be plugged into a slim not attached to a Pro console, so it will not work.

    What brand of external USB HDD is it? Is it a USB 3.0 HDD? Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port on the console?

    Make sure that the USB cable is securely and properly attached at both HDD and console end. If the drive has an external power brick, try unplugging it and re-plugging it into the power outlet while the HDD is attached to the console.

    Did it, but still not works.

    Xbox accepting external hdd as media. But when i try to format for games nothing happens.

    Extenal hdd was working fine few days back.

    Reset my console to factory setting but still same problem.

    Facing same issue with other external hdd also.

    Sorry to hear about your issue. Personally i have no problems with netflix on the xbox in germany.

    You could try to delete the App, reinstall it and do a power cycle. That should fix the issues the most time. Is the app on the internal or external hdd? Sometimes there are issues, if the App is on an external hdd.

    If that wont work you could do a soft factory reset where you keep your games and apps.
