@Stud....Actually I was talking directorates and divisions, and with my last post broke it down into a more defined one.

Spend more time with you MS colored glasses off and you will realize there is a whole other world to see.

2.
@GG...Why don't you read Stud's post 5 up from yours. He already did that.
...and you think that makes it okay for you to do it too? Why don't you jump off the cliff too the next time he decides to do it? Just because somebody else
did it 1st doesn't make it automatically okay. I tell this to the kids I teach all of the time: just because he hit you 1st doesn't make it okay to hit them back. If you do that, then you're both in trouble, not just the other kid, because violence begets
violence - be the 1 to break the cycle. Learn to turn the other cheek and be the better man.

I really hope they bring planet side 2 to X1. I'm playing the closed beta on ps4 and it is a blast. I have more friends on X1 so I would enjoy it more here. Also still not a fan of the ps4 controller for shooters.

6. @Stud MS have lost money try googling losses on Bing or tablets.

Sony will lose money as their manufacturing expense is bigger then that of MS. Even PS4 distribution was higher at launch then that of MS.

MS have 4 divisions XBox, Windows, Phones, Tablets.

Sony have more so their losses will be way more then MS.

Also MS have shareholders to please. Hence why they laid off staff last year and cut multimedia division. They still cutting to a certain point by having one operating system for everything. Even though technically XBOne is based on Windows 8.

MS doesn't have bottomless pockets if they did why have they got shareholders to answer to and to please every day ?

So Sony sell SOE and MS laid of 8000 staff last year, your point is ?

Wild, you don't understand what a loss is, do you? Sony may have more manufacturing EXPENSES than MS, but if they were a healthy company, that would translate into higher revenue, meaning equal or larger PROFITS.

Losses come when your costs (manufacturing, R&D, etc) are higher than your sales. If a company is losing money consistently, it is in trouble, considering making money is the sole purpose of most businesses.

As to your point about MS losing money on Bing and tablets, that may be true that those endeavors lost money initially, but profits in other areas far outweighed those losses. MS as a company has not posted a net loss in a long while. Sony, however, has
routinely had net losses (meaning the company as a whole lost money) recently.

Finally, last year Sony laid off 5,000 in 2014.

9. And I got no doubt they turn it around in time too big company to go under! Panasonic had troubles they turned it around so will Sony, got no doubt in my mind what so ever.

Regards MS it's the shareholders you got to worry about but 2015 should be a good year for them with the launch of Windows 10.

12. Press Release

Sony Unveils its Latest Array of Innovations at 2015 International CES

by Communications 01/05/2015, in Digital Cameras, Home Theater, Portable Audio, Televisions

Promotes superior audiovisual experiences through 4K and High-Resolution Audio as well as new modes of living through life-logging with its expanding and diverse range of SmartWear devices

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2015 (CES Booth #14200) – Sony Corporation is unveiling its new product lineup scheduled for release in 2015 at the “2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES)” held in Las Vegas, Nevada beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015.

In line with its philosophy of “inspiring and fulfilling the curiosity of people around the world and moving them emotionally,” Sony’s booth will feature new products and prototypes highlighting Sony’s 4K Ultra High-Definition technology, High-Resolution
Audio (“Hi-Res”), and SmartWear.

Sony is taking the 4K visual and shooting experience to a whole new level with a wide range of 4K compatible products. A total of 11 new 4K BRAVIATM LCD TVs will be brought to market across three series, boasting even more breathtaking picture quality than
before with Sony’s own, innovative 4K Processor X1. This new line of BRAVIA sets includes the world’s thinnest*1 series of TVs (approximately 4.9 mm at their thinnest point) as well as the world’s first series with Hi-Res compatible speakers*2.

In addition, Sony is equipping a wide range of 4K and Full HD sets with Google’s latest AndroidTM operating system to make cross-functionality between TV and mobile richer than ever. Furthermore, Sony’s One-Flick Entertainment interface provides a unique
user experience with intuitive flick-operation via touchpad remote to access a library of content just a flick away. The combination of these two provides consumers with a whole new way of interacting with their TVs and accessing content, services, and apps.

Sony is also bringing a whole new level of 4K technology to its digital imaging line, starting with its new Action Cam model capable of shooting 4K video – a new wearable style of capturing footage as crisp, clear, and real as the moment itself. Sony will
also showcase its newest 4K Handycam® camcorder – around 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the current model*3 and equipped with Sony’s proprietary Balanced Optical SteadyShotTM technology.

In the realm of audio, Sony’s wide range of new Hi-Res compatible products offers superior listening from inside the home to on-the-go. Sony is introducing a total of ten new devices*4, including a Hi-Res compatible top-of-the-line Walkman®, headphones,
wireless speakers, home theater systems, and multi-channel integrated amplifiers. With Sony’s newly developed LDAC codec technology, which enables the transmission of approximately 3 times the amount of audio data as is currently possible with existing technologies*5,
users can now listen to higher quality music wirelessly over Bluetooth® than ever before. Sony’s exhibit will also feature the power of SongPal LinkTM, a new functionality available in Sony’s new products that enables simultaneous audio playback through multiple
connected devices*6. A demonstration of this at CES will transport attendees to a new musical space that transcends the physical confines of the venue.

Sony is also pushing forward with the creation of SmartWear devices that offer new experiences and styles of living. At last year’s 2014 International CES exhibition, Sony presented an innovative line of conceptual SmartWear products that log life experiences
by recording actions of the user throughout the day. The information stored in the Lifelog app enables the user to identify and improve upon daily patterns, making the SmartWear device a powerful “life tool” that has the potential to enrich one’s life. In
2015, Sony will further strengthen its ties with fashion and lifestyle brands to deliver new modes of device-wearing that complement the conventional wristband-style. From headsets to eyewear, Sony’s SmartWear line will take on a variety of shapes and forms.
With a fuller offering of Sony and third-party services and apps, these devices will boast a variety of potential applications, from everyday communication to improved tracking and recording functionality for running.

15. @ Stud actually LG does

But here's the killer blow

It actually cheaper too produce TVs in Korea then it is in Japan. So you would expect Samsung and LG to be doing better.

I'm not a Sony Fanboy I own various electrical devices only a DVD player and my PS3 is manufactured by Sony. Currently as I type I'm using a Google Nexus 10 tablet who was manufactured by Samsung.

So I'm anything but a Sony Fanboy for the record.
