So........

I finished watching some gameplay video of a guy playing a round of the Hardline game mode "Heist" and I'm still not impressed. In fact, I'm less interested now than I was when I first found out about this game. I didn't think that could was even possible
as disinterested as I was to begin with.

Fast paced, smallish maps, little to no weapon recoil(f?*&ing seriously?!?!), disappearing rockets when you're killed AFTER firing them...... remind you of anything? Anybody remember how lame tubes were/are in CoD? Imagine that plus rocket launchers and
tell me how cool that is. Unless the city's providing full blown tanks to their police force, projectile explosives will be unmatched. The only difference I can see is the amount of destruction involved. That's probably the only good thing I could take from
it and even that couldn't shake the sickness I was feeling in the pit of my stomach as I was watching it.

Is the upcoming Beta going to open to everyone? Because if it is, I don't even know if I want to play any part of this games MP to be perfectly honest. Everything about this game just looks wrong and out of place to me. I really wish this franchise would
just stop trying to be something it's not and stick to what they do best and continue to make strides in improving on what they do best.

I'm slightly interested in the campaign and the campaign only, but even that's tainted now. I'll stick to BF4 for my MP needs until the next Battlefield drops. In the meantime, please EA, just stop.

So this smartglass thing...

I tried smartglass on forza horizon, but it didn't disable sleep mode so it kept going off after a few minutes and I'd need to restart it. It was better after the update, at least it disabled sleep mode, but I stil found it easier to navigate by the on-screen map rather than the smartglass one.

If Forza 5 has smartglass connectivity, it won't be the same as the Horizon one as there is no world that you need to drive around. I'd love it if they allowed you to do the car paintshop via smartglass. That way I could while away the hours on that whilst watching telly or sitting in the garden

If they manage to bring something along the lines of Rockstar's social club to smartglass, that would be great.

 

So this smartglass thing...

They are releasing a dedicated app for BF4, but I haven't seen the platforms or a date announced yet and the current Battlelog app has never been released on Android. I tweeted the BF account to ask when and what platforms, but never got a reply.

The iOS version is a bit better than the Android version of the current Smartglass app, for example it integrates Halo 4 stats content that you can navigate when playing that game. I expect them to release a new version to coincide with the X1's release. We'll have to wait and see if Android is short changed again.

 

dice is busy with the next battlefront, we hope its gonna be epic battlefield with star wars weapons and veh.

 

Yeah, I know Dice is doing other stuff and that another dev is doing Hardline. That's why I'm not busting Dices' balls. This game has publisher written all of it. And I'm with you on Battlefront, got my fingers crossed for that one.

 

I think bf is pretty much over now, hope someone comes up with a good mil shooter again, but its really the destruction that made bf stand out, hope battlefront gets that, a good ww1 shooter on frostbite would be awesome

 

Too bad some developer can't get ahold of Ghostlight's unfinished "to end all wars" .... Finish the game or redesign it using the Frostbite II engine. What I took away from the developer's original intent would have been a game that played a lot like Fronlines
Fuel of War., but with WW1 vehicles and weapons

 

Battlefront? Great, another lasor, jetpack, space, cloaking,, shooter thingy......sigh. Give us WWI or WWII.

Im totally with you on this Spud,

After seeing the gameplay and alpha footage from various youtubers I couldnt help but feel that

they have gone in completely the wrong direction with the Battlefield series.

After playing the beta however I was slightly surprised, the gameplay is smooth and feels realistic and true to battlefield's style, the whole premise of a warzone over a bank robbery however feels completely wrong.

Whilst this might be a fun interim shooter, it certainly wont be giving me the full battlefield experience I know and love and definitely wont grip me into playing for hours like previous titles.

Bring on battlefront.
