  1. So... Yeah... Sea Of Thieves... Is It As Bad As I Think It Is Gonna Be?

It's especially annoying since I work in catering I tend to work every weekend, whereas my friends are in professions that give most weekends off.

Never work as a chef if you value socialising.

Then I apologize for doing so. Perhaps you can clarify however what you consider to be griefing in this game? Traditionally pirates aren't known for being pleasant and friendly, they were really quite nasty fellows who would screw over a crew mate if it meant
some extra gold in their own pocket.

Grieving in this game is when you and your friends are trying to do a quest and maybe you want to be left alone and then another crew comes along and effs it all up and takes your things. That’s grieving.

I know pirates aren’t supposed to be friendly. Regardless some people, or actually a lot of people don’t like games where that can happen.

It’s different than your regular run-of-the-mill multiplayer game.

That’s not why I won’t play it again. I won’t play it because they are charging full price for a game which in my opinion has the least amount of content I’ve ever seen. €69.99 is just too much to justify. I’d much rather buy FC5.

If others are having fun then that’s great. I just don’t see those same people having the same fun 2 weeks after release.

You seem to be in the same vicious cycle I've found myself in quite often. Friends either aren't online to play at the same time or something and it's become more difficult to find decent people when you do try to meet them in a game.

Well then you missed my point. Yes other players can be annoying in multiplayer games, but they cannot grief you in all of those games. SoT allows them to grief you the same way they do in DS. That’s not fun to a lot of people and it’s definitely not the norm

So... Yeah... Sea Of Thieves... Is It As Bad As I Think It Is Gonna Be?

Sea of Thieves isn't a game for me simply down to it really requiring you to play with friends. With the hours I work I rarely do get to game with them and so I'd be going solo, multiplayer games I've found are rarely fun on your own and randoms these days
seam to be nothing more than bile spewing idiots.

However I must say, and I know I'm contradicting myself a little here, I find one complaint rather odd about the game. Other players are annoying. Surely players in a game about pirates are supposed to be annoying, they are pirates after all.

Well then you missed my point. Yes other players can be annoying in multiplayer games, but they cannot grief you in all of those games. SoT allows them to grief you thebsame way they do in DS. That’s not fun to a lot of people and it’s definitely not the
    norm in multiplayer games.
Either the griefing is a lot less commonplace than you've been lead to believe, or I'm one of the luckiest pirates to play the game. I didn't get to play it the first night of release, but have been on every night since and have only run into 1 gaming session
in which I might say it felt like we were being 'griefed'.

We were docked at an outpost, had already sold our loot and were approached by another pair of pirates in a sloop that had been dogging us for a bit. And no, them dogging us isn't griefing IMO... they're pirates... they wanted to take whatever we had onboard.
They had one navigating the sloop and the other would drop into the water and try to board our galleon. He even got aboard a few times and became a PITA by running around, dropping our anchor (had it raised so we could turn to keep their sloop in cannon range).
He managed to kill a few of us, but we managed to get him every time he did get aboard. He was running all over the ship... and TBH... it's quite possible that he was trying to find out if we'd had time to sell our loot before they got to us, or if it was
still stashed onboard somewhere. They eventually gave up and moved on. I'll err on the side of griefing simply because it kind of felt like that and we had nothing of value aboard.

So there you have it from my personal experience. In a little over a week of playing about 4 hours each night... and one griefing session. And TBPH, there are a few things we could've done to end that griefing session a lot sooner but one of my crew wasn't
too happy with them dogging us, so he decided he wanted to make a war of attrition out of it.

I tried it for the first time two nights ago.

And people complain about how games like The Sims 4, etc, aren't multiplayer, when we have people here who complain how a game has no single player/campaign.

First thing I saw about the game is the graphics and the music. I'd give the game 6.9/10. It would be great to have a single player component. There is an option currently in the game to play some portions of the game by 'going at it alone'. Otherwise the
graphics in the game are like a 9/10.

I've played heaps of multiplayer on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. To me I find the people on Xbox One multipayer Minecraft LESS fun than on Xbox 360. There's like too many split screeners or too many people with less than 1,000 Gamerscore
cause of this Home console policy they have and then people just create multiple accounts or something. I still prefer some of Xbox 360's policies like you must have Gold to join parties and play multiplayer.

So... Yeah... Sea Of Thieves... Is It As Bad As I Think It Is Gonna Be?

    Easy way to answer this.

If your playing solo, don't bother.

If your playing with friends then get it now as its a blast in co-op.
This. I've played it both solo, with the wife and with a full 4 person crew. It's by far, much more fun when you have others to share the shenanigans.

So... Yeah... Sea Of Thieves... Is It As Bad As I Think It Is Gonna Be?

I plan on getting this game this easter weekend. I'll be getting the disc version as Microsoft is charging NZ$119 for the game, and EB Games is selling it for NZ$109 and JB Hi Fi NZ$92. Will also sell some of my disc games to help
bring the price down, that I pretty much don't play anymore (overwatch, FH2, cod bo3, cod aw, forza 6). I have roughly 25 Xbox One games a mix of disc and digital.

Well it can't be as bad as Goat Simulator, which looks like some cheap game. Sea Of Thieves has good graphics, fun music.
Why would you pay that much money for the game? Buy Game Pass for 1 month, get the game, play it and be bored with it within a week or two (almost everyone I know is already bored of it). Save your parents a bit of money.
