    So... xCloud in VR works.


    So while testing xCloud I thought, why not pop my phone in the ol' Gear VR and see if it works. Boom, using the Samsung Phonecast app, I can play xCloud games on a big virtual screen, it was great.



    It's made me realise there is some real potential for streaming standard flat games into VR in the future for virtual cinema screens, sort of like how you can get the Netflix app in VR. It was great! Going to test on Oculus Quest when I get the chance.

    Of course consoles get more power, but internet is getting faster at the same time, so Cloud gaming like XCloud is going to be a big part of it.

    Also, I hope that we can figure out better protocols for fast short range transmission , to wirelessly transmit data to e.g. VR headsets

    Hello Justin, regarding the Lag in the Xcloud system, this can vary because there are several factors involved in the process, as XCloud is a game streaming, your location, home network, ISP, use of the service on certain days can influence the performance of Xcloud.

    Regarding VR games, Microsoft does not make any disclosures about it here in the community, if something is published it will be on the site.
