So Who Got Homefront: The Revolution?

So I'm once again trying to find some games to purchase. Did anyone get
Homefront: The Revolution? If so, what did you think of it?

Both Homefront and Red Dawn have the same writer.

So technically, you got a game.

 

Videos I've seen look ok.

For some reason some people seem to really have it in for this game and insist it sucks.

Not one I'm going to get on launch but months down the road... who knows.

 

I'd also definitely like opinions on this game. I got the first homefront dirt cheap in a sale, and it looked pretty good from videos, playing it wasn't that fun for me though, I ended up giving it to my lad.

Same with this game. Looks pretty good from vids, just not dropping any cash on it until I know more about it.

 

I haven't seen anyone say the game sucks, I have seen plenty say the beta was so bad it was truly shocking and massively disappointing.

2 people on my friends list are playing it, but I haven't been able to ask them about it yet.

Would love to know peoples opinions especially if they played the beta.

 

Not bothered at all about a MP Beta, The campaign looks pretty good, I will pick it up at some point but im to busy with other titles at the moment.

 

Not at launch, but I'll get it because it's set in Philly and that is where I'm from. Just to enamored with Fallout 4 at the moment.

I have read it was shipped a broken game.

Bad screen tearing. Stupid AI. Story crippling bugs.

I'll pass.

 

The AI is pretty stupid. Which is something I cannot stand in games for the most part. I have had them, in the middle of battle, look the wrong way. I have had them stand there and not shoot. Then randomly decide to move forward. All while in the open
and while I was in the open. I checked, yes, even when in I was in the open and they could plainly see me.

The game definitely has issues. Some may be worked out but I am positive that some of the ones I hate will not. I am going to rent the One version and check it out as I know a few who want some feedback on that. But I have heard it has framerate issues,
AI problems, and other things. Seems like the best option would be rent first if that is a possibility. Some of these things do not both some people. I know the AI thing would not be an issue with the ones that are asking me about it. But the framerate
drops to around 15 (and mostly a typical 20-25 for the norm) would be an issues. As would the enemies just "popping up" although it seems, at least in some instances, they are there and you just cannot see them at all.

 

And now it sounds like I shall be giving this one a pass. Thanks for the info everyone.

 

I wanted it at some point. Not anymore, at least not on a console. It might be ok on PC once the (game breaking) bugs have been fixed, but I doubt they can ever fix the console versions' performance. 1080p on PS4 isn't good enough when there's screen tearing
and both consoles love to play this at pathetic 15-25 frames per second. That is NOT okay for a shooter. Not to mention that the autosave completely locks up the game for 5-10 seconds and apparently the saves happen pretty frequently. I simply removed it from
my wishlist. Oh well, now I can buy some other game instead and not feel like I was cheated out of my money

 

The trouble here is people are gonna tell you what the interweb told them instead of what they actually experienced.

Always makes me think back to that post by Brandiesel about the guy who had "Assassin's Creed" running on the Playstation 4 and the XBox ONE and asked people to highlight the differences.

They talked about how the PS 4's anti-aliasing was visibly superior and that it just seemed a little "crisper" and other malarky because the guy actually had them playing the game on the same system... 2 PS 4's running side by side.

Just goes to show you how stupid people who subscribe to that sort of stuff actually are.
