So which is it?

I understand that Gold gets early access to the Black Friday sale. I am a Gold member but am going to have to wait until at least tomorrow to pick up what I was wanting. However, if you look in the store then it says that the sale only has 11 hours remaining
so which is it? I thought these deals were supposed to be good until the 27th of November.

while kinect is great for standing up and moving around that isnt what it is all about.

there is voice input which obviously doesnt require moving at all.

i am going to copy from another reply i made in a different thread about more subtle movements kinect can use to immerse someone further into a game:

kinect has facial recognition so it will auto log you in. it can also track controllers so if your friend comes by and picks up a controller it will notice and log him/her in. it will also split the screen according to where you are sitting, ps eye has this
feature as well.

the facial recognition goes further as it can see your mood. this can add greatly to in game immersion. if you are frustrated and your brow is furled and you have a frown on your face, your character in game may act frustrated. likewise if you are happy
and smiling. this could also be used in games that require bluffing or persuasion. this obviously isnt for everyone, but some people will love this level of immersion as it can put them further into the game.

then there are the more subtle movements. maybe a head flinch results in a small little in game flinch, again for those who really get immersed into the game. but it could also be something like tilting your head might let you peer around a corner.

and then there are the things we cant think of because we have always gamed a certain way for so long. i mean look at what touchscreens did. would you have ever guessed a game where you shoot birds out of a slingshot at pigs would get so huge? no because
its really not a fun game until you play it on a touchscreen then its this addictive little game. is it a great game? are all these little touch based games great? no, but they are fun for a bit. kinect could spawn a new type of game just like touchscreens
did.

 

Which is correct?

Probably in the minority, but I liked the reveal. I already knew it would play games and that E3 would showcase them; seeing what else it did, what it would look like, and the specs were what I wanted to see.

What I walked away with after the reveal.

1. I liked the way the console looked, though I bought a "old school" V.C.R. at a garage sale for its look too. Lol.

2. They controller still looked top notch AND supposedly comes with a improved D-Pad. We'll see.

3. Kinect 2 sounds impressive. If it can be turned off independently of the console, I may use it occasionally.

4. Peaked my interest enough to want to know more about it.

E3 will be the deciding factor if ANY of the new consoles will be a purchase this holiday season.
