So what is the consensus for this game?

I mean... If you are fan of first to see first to kill or a camper, you won't like it. But thanks to that, Game gets more like... skill. Yes, now you need skill because you cannot now wait until an enemy will jump in the room you are hiding in, he would
fly through the room and you are pretty much equal.

 

I'm worried that about the statement "now you need skill". Halo takes more 'skill'. That doesn't mean it is more enjoyable.

I enjoy Call of Duty because it is a smooth, easy to play, semi-realistic, addicting first person military shooter. I don't play video games for the competitive scene. I play call of duty to chill and have fun. I camp, I rush, I use goofy set-ups/tactics.
It all depends on my mood, who I'm playing with and the game mode.

If all enemies are jumping around/flying through rooms that doesn't sound like Call of Duty. That sounds like Halo and Titanfall. They are both decent franchises, but again, that isn't Call of Duty.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

For starters, dont listen to all the people hating on it. It is NOT that bad. Its just not a traditional COD.

AW makes this franchise different which is a good thing. There is only so much they can do with the what we had in the past. If you dont change it up, then it starts getting boring and that is EXACTLY what happened with the franchise. It got very boring
very fast with repeating a lot of the same code and tactics.

Most of the people who dont like the game are the ones who camp a lot (a lot less of that thank god), dashboarders and those who just want to sit around, do nothing and get rewarded for it. This game makes you move around and actually do something or you
get penalized with a death. AND they made it to where ANY disconnect from the game gives you a loss and also affects your k/d which is what was desperately needed for years.

Pretty much, I would say it is worth a shot. It may look like Titanfall but is nowhere near it. The only thing that makes it feel like that is the jumping and boost jump, THAT IS IT. There is nothing aside from the jumping that makes this feel like Titanfall.

 

I personally love it. For years people have moaned and whinged about the fact CoD is the same thing every year. They do something different and we still have moaners and whingers. It's a breath of fresh air and if you're over 18 feel free to add me!

i got the copy with my Xbox one Advance warefare bundle i downloaded did the add-ons and season pass and just played it and love it.

 

Just to clarify, I'm not "hating" on the direction this game took. It's not my thing, thats why I've never gotten in to Halo. Not really a big deal just disappointing to me. As Relentless said, its trying to be a Halo/Titanfall type game.

My biggest issue is the fact that it is a broken. The tick rate is set to low (30) to keep up with what is happening in the game. If they raised the tick rate to 60 (like some other titles have) then the game would play significantly better.

 

I dont agree with the whole "its trying to be a halo/titanfall game". There is absolutely NO basis for that statement whatsoever.

There is only 1 aspect of Halo in this game and that is the armor ability which in this case is the exo ability. As for Titanfall, there is only 1 thing and that is the double jump. I hardly call that "trying". If it was trying to be Halo, you would see
more Halo mechanics like overshields, AA, vehicles etc. If it were trying to be Titanfall you would see higher jumps, wall running, big mechanical suits falling from the sky every few minutes.

But to say that AW is "trying" to be those other games when there is only ONE aspect of each in the game is stupid. Not trying to be hostile with that but seriously, you would need A LOT more aspects of the game to be like the others before making such a
statement.

 

The exo suit is only 'one' aspect...but it's a pretty impactful aspect that appears to change the way the game is played significantly.

One of the main reasons I disliked halo was the halo hop. People flying through the air is silly and unrealistic to me. Yes I understand COD and most video games are unrealistic, but imo there is a distinct difference between classic COD/BF and super advanced
space marines.

I understand why people like Halo/Titanfall. They are solid games with solid engines. But I prefer 'realistic' classic military shooters. Hopefully Treyarch doesn't follow Sledgehammers path.

 

On the hard core end those games play great. When the game mode is core mode, holy !!!# what a frustrating, hit marker, pour a clip and a half for a kill mode. Frustrating especially when lag comp is placing you at a disadvantage.

VERY, VERY Fun when it is rrunning smoothly.

 

I've always, always played HC modes since MW2. This series, with the bonus map, and classic mode I've been in core mostly. There are times I get so many hit markers that I stop shooting and re-load because I assume I've killed them lol. Other times in
core I go beastmode and just dominate. This is nothing new to this series (which end of the lag comp curve you are on). Lag comp + to low tick rate = broken game.

The Exo suit is not "one feature". It is thee feature that this entire game is built around. Fact

I agree that this game was changed too much. My k/d was over 3.3 in the last 3 cod games and now its 1.5. Im not a camper i play tactially and dont like to rush into areas and run around like an idiot but thats all everyone does now. You cant really get
a feel for the battlefield because spawns are so random so you never know where theyre coming from. I spawn, run forward and in about one or two seconds someone appears from behind or above and kills me. Very frustrating when there was nobody there just
a second ago but now they are. They should have left it semi realisted like before. I want cod not Halo. The game is too random now.

 

If you want a more realistic military shooter get BF4. I did and I am enjoying it more since i'm not constantly getting spawn killed or killed by some fool jump boosting everywhere. Being able to control where you spawn is good because I actually get a
chance to get my bearings and then approach where everyone is fighting instead of being put in the middle of the fight. I really hope the next game isnt like this one.

 

I had the day off so I decided to give it a try. It is what I expected. It feels like a mesh between MW3 and Titanfall. I'm not a fan. Jet packs don't belong in COD multiplayer.

I see what everyone was talking about with the increased speed of the game combined with lag. skill based matchmaking doesn't help the lag. Hit boxes are no where near where they appear to be. Unless there is some variation of bullet drop that I'm unaware
of. I can be lined up on a player perfectly as they are running left or right and hit zero bullets. People kill me before they come around a corner. I die before the enemies bullets hit me. I'm not sure if this has to do with the tick rate, increased speed
of the game combined with the usual COD lag or the poorly designed matchmaking system.

But on a bright note, I like the random supply drops. It adds a little holiday cheer to dying.
