I was in here daily pre-release and shortly after but now i just pop in every few days and rarely post anything.

 

I one got an XBox One at Christmas, so a newbie, but on joining these forums, I was presented with the Microsoft feedback questionnaire, and for the little good it does, I told them I thought these forums were bad. I have been involved in Software design
for almost 30 years, and Usability is never given the priority it should be. The lack of ability to easily navigate to where you want to go is shocking. Not being able to easily see the structure of the forums is a related but separate annoyance i.e. A
lot of people don't know where they would like to go because then cannot see what there is. All to often software decisions like this are taken on the basis of the underlying technology, how cheap it is and how new it is, before consider "how good is it".
This is possibly the worst forum design I have encountered, with the Elder Scrolls Online forums not far behind

 

LOL. Yeah Reddit and pretty much anywhere else. It doesn't help that the gamer cards just no longer apply for XB1. I think it was the re-format they did. I mainly started using the site again to contact friends on the 360, now that msg's work cross gen,
it'll eventually stop. Man I wish the XB1 had a chat pad.

 

It has its called smartglass....

 

Just face it, these forums have changed just like gaming, gaming has become washed out over the past few years to the point it is becoming meh, just like these forums.

I have Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 smartglass apps on my Samsung S5, and I really prefer the chatpad. No need to plug it in a USB slot. No need to worry about connecting your smartphone and console together. I've noticed they introduced this week the DAY you posted

Personally I keep mine at the 30 Apr 2015 11:52 AM format.

If your forum settings have changed without you doing so, then it is likely just the forum glitching out again rather than a universal change.

One day I hope they'll fix the hide user signature option. That's been broken since they switched to this forum software.

 

Smiles you don't have to plug anything into a USB with smartglass and the APP auto detects your console.

 

I was referring to USB keyboards. Should have said but it's almost my bedtime. Xbox 1 smartglass sometimes has issues talking to my console. And yes I connect me phone to me home network. I love it how British peps say me instead of my. I'm NZ. Usually it's
mostly NZ and Australians online when I play between when I get home and go to bed. There is very little time difference between NZ and Australia.

 

The app doesn't always detect your consoles, that's the problem.

I've found that if Smartglass is running before turning on the consoles, either 360 or One, that the two wont see each other.

Making sure Smartglass isn't running, turning on the consoles, and then running the app means that they pair first time. Sadly this means that I have to force close Smartglass each time I've finished using it or I'll get issues down the line.

Like I said, a great app but not a convenient chat-pad replacement.
