You are doing nothing but parroting a narrative, If you knew the underlaying arc diffrences in the PS4 vs XB1 you would know that there is more wrong with Xbox one than just it's SDK.

The lazy dev mantra only apllies to The new xbox team. Who deved a very lacklustre console. The truth hurts.

@Dufful then there is no point in coming here obviously this is what people want to talk about. If you stoped the people with issues from posting here this forum would be a ghost town.

 

1080p is possible on Xb1, but to achive that the bar is set low on the other aspects of the game.

That is why 1080p games on Xbox one look very mediocore, (forza has jaggies and lacks good anisopric filtering and lighting, and those boring looking mutiplats lococylce is perhaps the most visually boring game scene)

The New "SDK" is nothing but asking devs to use the XB1 as the lead platform and port it up to PS4.

You will see 1080p mutiplats on Xb1, but they will be very boring to look at.

It's easy to complain about threads you have no interest in but it seems to be a great deal more difficult for those same complainers to create threads of their own.If people are interested in the topic you post, then they will discuss it with you.

Like it or not, resolution is a 'hot topic' at the moment for the current gen console gamers. People are going to discuss the subject. 'Haters' and people genuinely interested alike.

How about instead of just telling people they are wrong to want to discuss this subject, you tell them why resolution isn't a big issue. Will everyone listen, no of course not, but you may be surprised at the amount of people who will.

 

Becoming a joke... Really annoying... Yes, that just about covers all these res complaints that are made EVERY DAY.

 

Why do people care? Its not like we're married to our games consoles! We're not stuck with them for the next 10 years. We don't have to go through a messy divorce process if we come to the conclusion in time that we've chosen the wrong console. We just
sell it and buy the other one. Simple really isn't it.

 

There is more at play than just ROPs, CUs, TUs, and shaders here.

There is the fact the xbox one has a wonkey memory arc.

And the fact that PS4 uses a co deved with AMD 2013 GPGPU arc (this is why it cost less than a billion to dev ps4 as AMD benfitied from the partnership and now uses the same Gpgpu setup in thier new gpus), that adds compute possiblities without putting strain
on genral gpu perfomance, this is not present on xb1.

right now we are getting mostly PC ports of mutiplat games, PS4 has genral gpu perfomance in these games to be better than xb1. However later down the line when games are made just for each console (including mutiplats) and pc is not the lead platform, the
PS4 is going to job *** the Xb1 out of the water.

luckily as AMD is a partner to ms and are under NDA, this is not well known outside the dev community, microsft can do alot of damage control for awile. but the xbox one has some real issues ahead of it.

The minor reported upclocks to the CPU hold no candle to what GPGPU on its new 2013 arc on ps4 and amd's new R9 seris.

This transends fanboyism, its simply fact. Had J Allard been the head of this Xbox, things would have been so diffrent.

 

Actually voteDC I have commented properly on this topic. I have had conversations about this topic and people have listened. That is not the issue. The issue is the amount of resolution threads. Every single time a new game is announced it's the same ***
thing. Over and over. Resolution is the new kinect of the thread world. The reason we don't see hardly any good threads is because it gets buried a few pages down by all the crap on top. But I will let it go now. Just remember this when you see a new thread
about resolution everyday. You will begin to see that it's the same crap over and over and over and over and over and over........

You must realize, Mutiplats where abig part of xbox 360, it had an edge over PS3 (as ps3 was a cpu powerhouse but had a very bad gpu and was hard to dev for)

As far as console experince goes, People want better looking mutiplats, they were the most played games on both sony and xbox 360 platforms for like 4 years now.

The gaming industry is all about the mutiplats now. And xbox one is showing early signs of not being close to competitive with the PS4 (a cheaper machine from a company who is in sub prime investment class)

People keep saying "the xbox one will improve" and yet so will the PS4, GPU's push more than pixels and frame rates, The gpu on the ps4 can handle better lighting, better textures, better AA and AF, ect and can hold higher resolution when a game is still
visaully intense in other areas and actually has robust compute options to take cpu intensive tasks off the cpu entrily without effecting its perfomance.

Xbox one hardware wise is a step down from the PS4, It goes to show that a company who can throw billions around can still have less talent at thier fingure tips for certain products than a company who has seen better days.

 

Well then go buy one if your so impressed. Because seriously, none of that impresses me in the slightest. I have a pc that makes the ps4 look like a child's toy and if I only cared about power that's where I would be. But there is a lot more to a console
than raw power!

 

Your right DuFFul, but the argument is about console mutiplats and how Xbone struggles to do what the ps4 can do easy.

People dont want the overhead of dealing with PC routines of having to go install drivers for each compenent, virus scans, optimizing, dealing with wonky software ect. People want a video game console that gives them a great expeirnce.

For some visual IQ is imporant enough that people want it, otherwise we would still be on the colleco vision and atari.

Xbox one is a step up from the 360, if that fine with you and it caters to your taste its fine. But this whole mantra of "it gets better" is depressing. All the people here on xbox.com parrot this and MS PR as fact.

People that hold onto the hopes that the Xbox one can hold up to the PS4 with a "SDK" revision are setting themselves up for disapoinment and will vocalize the "lazy dev" knee jerk response when its not the game creators fault.
