So the USB ports on my Xbox Series S cut in and out randomly.

Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your console?

If not, may I know if you tried power cycling your console?
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Or did you try factory resetting the console but keeping games and apps?
Go to settings > system > console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

I have the issue on my series s, Sound randomly cuts out then comes back on only whilst playing games. Tried all the different sound settings available to me which is stereo uncompressed, dolby digital, and dolby atmos for home theater! I don't use any headset at all so that rules that out. People mentioned changing to a different hdmi port which i did, tried using my old xbox one hdmi lead which was just the same. I'm sick of trying to fix it and just give up and went back to my xbox one s.

The E model 360 replaced the S model 360. It was designed to mimic the looks of the One but was basically a cost cutting exercise by MS as the number of USB ports was reduced, the optical out was ditched, as was the large A/V port.

I am oldschool and would only use a usb 2.0 cable in a usb 2.0 port. It's kind of rage against the machine willy nelson style I wouldnt let a 2.0 cable flop into a 3.0 port thats messy. and why I dont have an xbox one. I actually am currently trying to find a 40 series 13th gen laptop with a usb 2.0 port for this very reason and its cutting out major brands like alienware for example. but thats just my ocd

are you using the original back xbox one or the newe white s model.

if using the newer s model are you using a third party adapter to attach the kinect, if so wich usb port are you plugging into as it is usually the one closest to the hdmi ports, if it is a third party adapter is may be faulty as it sound like the usb bus
is having to much power draw which cuts the wifif module that the controllers connect to.
