So the latest update has issues.

I tried logging onto my Xbox 360 today, and noticed I had a system update to download. "Okay." I thought. "Let's get this over with." So I confirmed I was alright with downloading. The bar got most of the way full, and then just stopped.

    And then the update failed.

I checked my internet. It was working fine. I tried updating again, but it refused to even start the download, failing right away. At that point I wasn't even able to attempt to sign in to live - it would tell me there was a problem with my connection. So
I tried resetting my modem and my router, and clearing my Xbox's cache, then turning it off. I plugged my router and modem back in and turned the Xbox back on, and once again I was prompted to update. So I tried to update again. The bar got most of the way
    full.

And then the update failed again. The Status Code I'm getting reads "4174 0000 3080 054F 8007 274C". I tried googling this, and got 0 results.

I've repeatedly attempted to download the update, and each time the bar makes it to a random amount of fullness, and then suddenly stops and I get an error. It's not me, Microsoft, it's you. My connection is fine. And as you'll see on the forums, I'm not
the only one having this issue. So the problem isn't on my end.

Any suggestions? I've got no idea where to go from here, but I'm really hoping there's some workaround so I don't have to wait until Microsoft finds out there's an issue and fixes it.

    :)

    Controller gets disconnected

ive seen this with a few beta updates.. it seems to be a isolated thing.. my issue worked out after a few reports/chats with Microsoft directly.. I think they pushed me an update thru and it went away..

my latest issue has been wireless controller just going non responsive except the home button as well as chatt just going in and out thru my Kinect..

    August Update Issues (Disc Error)

Has anyone else had problems with their Xbox One not being able to read game discs since installing the latest August update?

Xbox Support said the issue has been wide-spread but I haven't seen anyone mention it on forums or articles.

    Hi,

If you are having issues downloading the update via console you can try this:

    support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-info

You can try to download the update to a memory stick (USB key) and update from there, if you chose this make sure you are not connected to the internet with the console.

I hope this will help you.

It would help, except there's one problem:

"When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software."

That part doesn't happen. ^^^ When I restart my console, it doesn't automatically start the installation program, it just goes straight to my dashboard. And I did make sure to unzip the files the right way. And I did make sure my Xbox was disconnected.

Unfortunately, this method didn't work. The issue is here:

"When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software."

This part didn't happen. Instead, when I restart my console it just goes straight to the dashboard. I have made sure to unzip the files properly to an FAT32-formatted USB, and I have made sure that my console isn't attempting to connect online.

Why does my reply to this thread keep getting deleted? I've been trying to tell you, the method didn't work. This part:

"When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software."

Isn't happening. When I restart the console, it just goes straight to dashboard and doesn't give me the option to install the update. I have made sure to format the USB to FAT32, I have unzipped the file contents correctly, I've tried it with two different
USB devices, and I've made sure my Xbox isn't connected online. But still I get no option to apply any updates.

Please post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single device).

Do you use an Ethernet cable, or wireless with your console?

The modem is a 2203C Scientific Atlanta, and the router is a WRT54G Linksys Wireless. My Xbox operates off of wireless. Now I know what you're going to say, but the fact remains that I've been able to game just fine with this equipment for more than two
years so far, and I've been able to update my Xbox consistently with this equipment so far. My connection settings haven't changed, and my ISP is functioning just fine. So logically, if everything worked fine before, then it should work the same way now. So
if nothing has changed on my end but I'm experiencing new problems, then the problems couldn't have been caused by my end unless my router, modem, or Xbox were broken. Which they aren't. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, other people on the forum seem to be experiencing
this same problem with the update.

And the issue of why the USB method isn't working still needs addressing. The USB method seems fullproof, so why wouldn't it work? There's got to be something I'm not doing right with that method.

    Hello Zesu Seruzu,

Based on the status code that you gave, the reason that you are getting the error is because the Xbox is having trouble downloading the update from Xbox Live. Since there is no known issue regarding this circumstance with the Xbox Live Service; which you
    can view
    here,
and that the update on my Xbox and many others installed with no problem, it may seem that your internet equipment may have faulted. Please be aware, technology is not perfect and that the status of your internet equipment may change at anytime regardless
of the circumstances, even if you have not altered it. You may need to troubleshoot your internet connection to resolve this issue. If you need assistance, please contact Xbox Support by clicking
    here

Had same issue as OP but the USB solution resolved the problem.

I was able to sign in and get onto the dashboard.

However, once I tried playing a game that required an update it gave me the same error message.

I then tried playing another game that was installed on my drive, and I was able to play it with no problems, online and all.

So it seems the issue is solely to do with the updating process of anything on my system.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

This is a big problem with xbox live. I have not been able to connect for 2 weeks now from 27/28 May. I have spent hours on phone to support but still no resolution. Started with 801590E error. We have reloaded update via USB, reset modems, cleared cache
too many times to remember. Nothing works. Case has been escalated but not getting anywhere. 4 hours on phone yesterday. Any suggestions??
