So now Xbox Live updates are interrupting gameplay?

This has happened on 3 occasions now in the past 2 weeks, I'll be playing a game with my friends and mid game, the screen "It's time to update" comes up. Surely this is inconvenient, and there was nothing wrong with the way it was.

If there is a pending update it can wait until I next log on? These updates are not quick either, some taking up to 30 mins, while my team on Rainbow 6 is then handicapped for the match.

Also why is it so frequent and whats the problem.

Any feedback would be nice.

installing is so screwed up!

From what I read, you were all over the place messing with the installs.

> You were installing CoD
> You interrupted that at 37% to install Sunset
> You started Sunset at 22%
> You backed out when Sunset needed an update
> You paused and interrupted the update, just to resume it again
> You started playing again when the update wasn't done
> You interrupted Sunsets update again to install more Call of Duty

You're all over the place messing with the installs, canceling and resuming thinking it's going to make it install faster. Just be a little patient. I would suggest canceling all installs and restarting your Xbox.

If you want to play Sunset, install Sunset, and let it completely finish. Stop interrupting it. Let the Xbox and your internet connection do it's thing. When you're not playing your Xbox or something, let Call of Duty fully install, that's it.

 

netflix undergoing maintance/update. 3/12/1:01am

well i was mid streaming a show.. and was prompted to get a update.. got the update but now netflix is down.

got on the chatt with netflix.. the lady"megan" said the it is a server/performance update... it was a fix on both netflix and xbox one and the network would be down for a little while and apologized for the interruption..

i am not sure if we will receive or get any new content or loose any content (this usually happens with quarterly updates) i searched for a breakdown of the update and found no posts or releases from microsoft or xbox(or 3rd party)

it not a big patch.. it was up and que in a few seconds..

so if you got a xb1 and netflix subscription go grab the new update.

 

You are apparently in the Preview Program and if you don't want to get the updates you can opt out of the program. Frequent updates are common when beta testing software.

It does sound like you are in the Xbox One Preview Program as Genesis1953 suggested. The best way to alleviate updates is to turn your console on to the Instant On mode and allow for automatic updates.

Xbox One Power Modes

While this will help with the vast majority of updates your console might see. Sometimes an update comes out and it's mandatory to update right as it's released, but following the above steps will help in keeping those to a minimum.

3 in the past 2 weeks? For me it's been 12 out of 14 days Xbox needs an update, kicking me out of games, consider yourself lucky.

 

Thanks for your feedback guys, and after what Brandonman's said... I'm gonna hand to opt out! That'd be infuriating!

 

Ok I've opted out, and it's still happening 450mb every 2 days, interrupting gameplay and forcing you to go offline or update.

What is going on?

 

Has the program is actually been removed from your console? Once the program is removed your console will be factory reset. Since you are still experiencing the updates you should probably post in the preview forums for assistance. You may also want to
try opting out again.
