So my wireless Xbox 1 controller is not conecting no matter what I do.

Sorry to hear about your controller. I see you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps. Would you be able to perform the steps below? First, try turning off your Xbox console..

Step 1: Power Drain (CONTROLLER)

1. Remove the batteries on your controller even if it's turned on

2. Press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds. This will 1 the remaining power.

3. Wait 2 minutes.

4. Insert the batteries back to the controller and turn it on

Step 2: Power Drain (XBOX)

1. Make sure that your console is turned on then unplug the power cable at the back to turn it off.

2. Press the power button for about 15 seconds even though it's already off. (This will remove the remaining power on your Xbox)

3. Wait for 2 minutes and plug the power cable

4. Turn on console and wait for the dashboard to appear

Step 3: Pairing the Controller

1. Turn on the affected controller

2. Press and release the Pair button on the Xbox.

3. Within 20 seconds, press and hold the controller's Pair button (a circular button on top of the controller as you hold it in your hands) until the controller's Xbox button flashes a few times. That means it's searching for a console. The Xbox button stays lit once it's connected.

You are not forced to conect a headset to a controller. Wired headsets conect to a controller but wireless like the ones I have (turtle beach and Astro) conect via USB and Optical cable to the console and have a docking base that transmits to them. There
are other wireless headsets available also.

If a controller is already plugged in, no matter what it'll register that as #1. Unplug the old controller before turning the console on and then re-plug it back in and it'll register the new controller as the #1 controller.

I use a wired controller, so it's the first thing the console goes to when starting up, even when I use a wireless controller to turn it on.

So what im seeing is no matter what controller you use on your xbox wired or wireless it ends up disconnecting at some point? But those same controllers work flawlessly on another xbox?

i dont see it being a consle issue try regular batteries in it and see what happens if it still does it then it would be ur controller. i have had a couple weird issues myself with my slim and my wireless controlles once in a whil they dont conect to it
i just switch controllers and the problem stops. so i would try a diffrnt controller altoghether and if it still happens then i would say u have a issue with the consle
