So much trouble installing and downloading anythign to the Xbox1.

Ignoring 12/13 issues with XBOX. For the past few weeks its been an ultimate nightmare to download and manage anything on the XBOX1. I have a 500GB internal and a 2TB external. Every time I want to install to the External the XBOX continues to want to install
to the internal HD. It will sometimes try 2-3 times before understanding that I have 2TB of free space on the external and that its OK to do so and then it will finally install.

I cant transfer over games like Black Ops 3, Garden Warfare 2, because either the game wont work or the updates wont install or the installation stops. Never mind that I just installed a game to the External or that I been playing a game that's on the External.

Now I have games like Battlefield 1 which only want to instal a 3.8Gb file, and the abox1 wants to install the whole 48Gb again?

So whats going on here, what happened to the system a few updates ago that would transfer stuff in a second, saw that the internal was full and automatically would install to the external.

Trouble installing madden 18 for xbox1

I'm having trouble installing madden18 on xbox1 I thought it was the cd but the next 1 is doing the same thing and I have a lot of free space can someone help me

Refering to the installs being much slower than PS4 installs and the fact that downloads often get stalled for extended periods of time. Not refering to this case where several installs were attempted at once. It's just common sense that this was just asking for trouble. Many Youtube videos demonstrate the Xbox One's slow/buggy installs when downloading/installing a single game.

 

You currently have to choose where to install the game, by default the system will try to install the game on your internal hard drive. if you want to change the location you have to manually select to install to your external drive, it will then always
install your game on the external, and you can choose to move the file later.

Go to Settings > System > Storage and you should be able to choose your external as your default installation location. There isn't a way currently to choose between the two when first installing a game, it just uses your selected method so make sure you
have the internal or external chosen before starting a digital download, or before installing a disc.

If you do so after, just select move. The files will always take some time to transfer and will be dependent on the external drive as well as internal, the internal can only read at specific speeds, and your external will only write at certain speeds. There
isn't much that can be done with write speeds.
