So.. Minecraft Xbox One?

So, I decided i'd download Minecraft Xbox One Edition for one reason, Id already purchased it for my 360 and it was only £3.99 to upgrade (Even though I still have my 360) tbh what swung the vote for
me was the 1000gs, I played Minecraft ALOT for the first year of release but now.. I just find it slightly boring and repetative, Maybe thats just me I dunno, But for an easy 1000gs ill pay the £3.99, Plus, we all go through phases and maybe one day I'll actually
get back into this game, its been known to happen alot to me!!

Minecraft

I'm pretty sure Minecraft is just Minecraft. One game, Minecraft. There is also Minecraft story mode, that is a very different game, a telltale series.

Minecraft Console versions were essentially the same game but for anyone that owns the Xbox One edition was given a free updated version within the last few months I think. This version I can only describe as the unified version that is cross platform and has a slightly different front end UI that looks more suited to a PC setup, once in the game the experience is the same. I think other consoles will eventually get this free updated version to bring it inline with others and bring the 'better together' cross platform option to all except the PS4 as Sony aren'y getting onboard with it.

I brought my daughter the Xbox One S console bundle for Xmas which includes Minecraft with some cosmetic packs and Minecraft Story mode Season 1. When I set it up I realised the bundled Minecraft is the new unified version which initially I thought would put my daughter off due to the main menu and new game UI but she got the hang of it quickly and like I said, once in game its essentially the same.

 

I played it for a while this morning, I have had no problems with it at all. I played the tutorial for the achievements. I am looking forward to making(attempting) some nice maps, I have a few good ideas.

 

If it ever goes on sale I might play it. I've actually never tried it before, but the gameplay vids I've seen make it look boring.

 

^^Its definitely boring at first. Get a few friends together and you will have fun.

 

I'm pumped to play it....but I really wish they would have added more to it. All I've heard so far is that maps are bigger...and it's 1080p/60 fps (lol). I stand by my opinion that I would have preferred to pay $60 for more than $5 for a bigger world.

I know. That will help for sure. After a week of exploring an 360 map (including building time) you pretty much knew 90% of the map above and below ground. The size of this map will make it so that you don't need to create a new world. I'm really hoping
they had more in mind but ran out of time because they were trying to import the old worlds (which are limited as of now) and plan on adding a bunch through patches.

 

I know of some friends from 2012 who use to play the game A LOT but now don't really play it that much. I still though. Couple of them have even removed their beacon for the game from the Xbox 360 version so it. I'd say always having friends to regularly
play the game may help keep the interest alive. Some days my friends are busy or don't join/invite and it gets a bit sad playing Minecraft alone.

The Xbox 1 version also has new game music as well as the same tracks from the 360 version, way faster load/save times, noticeably better graphics processing power, and more mobs friend and foe spawn in the world. I'd say get it especially if 4J is giving
the discount to 360 owners you can still play on the 360 version and keep that version. Also you can transfer your 360 worlds and DLC over to Xbox 1 by downloading the DLC on Xbox 1 when you do there's no additional charge the game even comes with some new
skin packs I think. Plus the X1 version is 1080p 60 fps. Who says there are no 1080p 60 fps games on Xbox 1 (?)

 

When it goes on sale (Christmas time??) I will pick it up. I still don't really understand what the point of the game is.... Lego on steroids?

 

I don't think we're on steroids ;P it's like a fashion/culture. The game is 3D 1080p 60fps on Xbox 1. The way Microsoft manages Xbox on 360 and 1 also helps make the gaming experience something you want to play. I suppose you've never tried the 360 version,
360 owners get a great discount US$5 someone else said 3.99 pounds and it's NZ$7.45 here instead of NZ$24.95 for those who haven't. Goes to show 4J is not greedy with their money. The reason why they keep Minecraft afloat is because they get lots of peps who
buy it. The not many peps brought it, they would probably have to raise the price.

 

I really need to find and start a new good a seed, I just get stuck in my old worlds pottering around doing little bits.

 

As addicting as ever! I was mining all afternoon.
