    So Microsoft/Xbox will not remove MY credit card from an unauthorized user's profile?


    My Xbox One is currently at my (soon to be ex after this debacle) boyfriend's house. I linked my credit card to his profile on my Xbox One over a year ago. He has never purchased anything without asking first, and it was usually just a month Gold sub or
    something like that.

    Well, I get my Discover bill and I went through the ROOF when I saw that he had purchased $200 worth of stuff from the Xbox Store without asking me. Completely without consent (stealing in my book). And $200 is nothing to shake a stick at!

    I don't have the console here at my house, so I contacted Xbox support to ask them to remove my credit card from his profile on my Xbox One. They wouldn't do it without contacting HIM to verify his Gamertag, email address and a verification code! WHATINTHEACTUALHELL??????
    If someone steals a credit card, the police don't go asking the robber for their login information!

    If the console was here, I would have done it myself. He is at work, so I have no way of getting my console until after he gets off work. I seriously do NOT want to have to freeze my credit card because my boyfriend is a frig-fragging idiot, I just want
    my card off his account. This is the stupidest thing I ever heard!

    your kids purchasing xbox points without permission?

    Remove your credit card from the account. Use Microsoft point cards and xbox live gold subscription cards.

    How did they hack your account?

    Offtopic, does anyone know how to remove the credit card number from a microsoft account, because I want to do that, because I have no plans to buy any digital games, and don't want someone hacking the account and knowing my credit card.

    They wont due to security issues.They have no way of knowing if you are telling the truth or not.

    I'm afraid you will have to contact your credit card company & cancel the card through them.

    Thanks. I got my Xbox One back today and removed the card from his account. Only problem now is that he can't play the games he bought, so he probably won't pay me for the bill. *sigh*

    Thanks. I got my Xbox One back today and removed the card from his account. Only problem now is that he can't play the games he bought, so he probably won't pay me for the bill. *sigh*

    Your credit card information is linked to his profile on the Xbox enabling your son to buy things at will. Get on the Xbox, sign into his profile and any other profile that might contain your credit card information. Go to settings, account and manage
    payment options. In this menu you should be able to remove your credit card information and no one will be able to buy anything unless your credit card info is added again.

    I had the same problem with my son and I found out he was logging on to my profile to purchase games and items. So I checked his profile, no debit card info. I had to remove it from my own profile so that he would not overdraft my account anymore.
