I've decided to finally quit Xbox after my third controller experiencing drifting. Its not a matter of gaming quality although it does have its faults which is fair in terms of improving quality, but honestly lack of customer service. Since experincing my
first controller drifting, everywhere I checked on forums all I saw was to replace it. When I checked other forums, the only reply from xbox admins was the same garbage automated response. So in the end I replaced it crediting it as **** quality because it
came with the xbox. So I bought a new one, one with all the stencils and what not hoping some quality has improved since its been out for a while. Apparently not. So if you're still reading up to here and you got this problem, instead of buying an expensive
new one which I might add with taxes is absurd foe the quality, you save give or take 11 or 12 of those looking long term and buy yourself a nice gaming PC So Long Xbox :)

    :)

    So long Xbox 360

HI! Last gen I was almost an exclusive 360 user and I really loved it. In fact, I bought the console day one on Mexico -the 20 gb edition XD- and well, Rare was a major part of the decision.

However, having passed a long time and seeing the Xbox One, I'll go with my 360 and stay here. I am a well known Nintendo user and I'll stick with it.

I loved my freaking console and never gonna ditch it. I have 60 retail games-aprox.- and I would love to read some recomendations to scrap them from my list.

    Thanks Xbox 360, you rocked

You can tell you have an auto-generated name, plus no gameplay activity for a long time plus 385 gamerscore that was earned in BF4 in 2014. Are you sure you've gone through 3 controllers or are you trying to be edgy and cool and bash Microsoft products without
    a genuine gripe?

I'm not saying their controllers are of super high quality because I don't think they are, but I've only had to replace my day 1 controller.

That's you (or that's him) lol. Au contraire, I'm saying that Xbox One controllers *are* of super high quality because I'm still cradling my beloved Lunar White model that's been to **** and back with Quantum Break's final boss, through a series of high-flying
loops, platforms and loot crates in ReCore, way too much showboating and offroading in Forza Horizon 3, and some teeth-grinding dungeons (aka vaults) in Mass Effect Andromeda... but still no drifting. Guess I'm uncommonly blessed.

  7. You guys can actually search KazeMercy for clarification. It's actually another problem with Xbox LOL. When I had my 360, I had used an old email to make KazeMercy, but when I got my One, I obviously wanted to keep KazeMercy. So when I signed in with my
new one it created Unarmed Cleric so I called customer support to change my KazeMercy gamertag onto my new email. And now my payment is through my new one for kazemercy but my signin is through ?? Regardless, it'd be absurd to bash on Xbox 3 YEARS
after if I haven't played since 2014 lol.. Wrote that post because there was no genuine fix other than "replace your controller"

^ Ignore the regulars around here. Many of them think MS can do no wrong and look for any stupid reason to cry foul when someone bashes their most precious possession.

Good luck to you with your PC, or whatever you move onto next. Though in all honesty, I doubt your luck will be much better since most companies these days engineer things so that they break within a few years.

I don't know that that's true personally. It sounds like something they would do, but I never have electronics break after a few years and that includes things I buy for my kids. I'm probably a little extra careful with my things and my oldest child who is
almost 10 does the same. My TV's, all consoles ever owned, iPads, phones etc etc all work and have for a long time. Maybe I'm just lucky.

And in regards to not believing the OP, it's easy not too when lots of people come to troll. When I look at their gaming history and I don't see much there, I don't assume they are posting with a different account. I go by what I see so unless they clarify
otherwise, I go with the most reasonable opinion.

I have had a xbox one since Christmas launch year and have gone through three controllers so I don't see the op being unbelievable. I also game much more then the average gamer so I just figured that the drifting of my left stick was from normal wear and
    tear.

    Look up "Planned Obsolescence" sometime.

You automatically assume anyone with a low gamerscore is a troll. Somehow I doubt a significant number of people come to this barren wasteland just to lie and try to make MS look bad. MS does a fine job of that on their own without any help.

You were proven wrong this time, so how many other times do you think you were wrong in the past when you tried to discredit someone as a troll?

  12. Calm down people.

I clean my X1 and 360 controller everyday and my 360 controller is well over 5 years old and my X1 is 18 months old... Both work near flawless...

The key to my success, after going through 3 360 controllers is keeping food particles, skin cells, sweet and the like cleaned from off the shell long before it falls past the thumbsticks and builds up under the 3d actuaters - or whatever they are called
on the internal boards. Which causes drift.

This buildup of food, your shedded skin cells, palm sweet etc, when it builds up around the 3d ? enough and you click the thumbstick, it then bends the pot spring thingamabob which in turn throws it out of adjestment.

I learned this some 5 + years ago and havent bought a replacment controller since.

Design flaw? Not really but it can be improved on. My design changes.

1, Rubber boot, like you'll find on manual shift cars to prevent dirt etc from gettin past the thumbsticks and onto the internals.

2, claimshell gaskets - same reason as above. Only it helps prevent dirt etc (pawn sweet mostely) from getting past the seems of the outer shell.

Umm.... I can't afford patients and goberments being/siding with crooks. Even if I did own patients, they would find/create loopholes to prevent me from profiting from them. (No joke)

This is one of the biggest "can of worms" type discussions to be had around here it seems. It ends up netting viewpoints from across the spectrum, everything from horrid QC to planned obsolescence to "wash your hands, you're probably gooping things up" gets
    thrown around.

I'm not one to blame any one of those (or any of whatever other arguments enter the picture) possible issues as much as I think it's a combination of them all.

The controller is the one thing that we're in constant and continuous contact with throughout each gaming session. And let's face it... no matter how well we take care of our controllers, they all suffer from abuse to some degree. Even if it's in the hands
of the most gentle gamer, it's still in a basically hostile environment. Thumbsticks get panic smacked around against the sides, buttons get mashed relentlessly (often harder and harder as action gets more intense) all while being anywhere from moderately
held to downright gorilla gripped, in the grasp of eventually dampened hands.

Plain and simple, our controllers are the one component that is exposed to the most variables in their respective environments in addition to the most destructive ones. How long they last and hold up against wear and tear is just as variable as the individual
environments and gamers they're exposed to.

It's not that I disagree with "planned obsolescence" as much as I see people typically using that as a finger pointing tactic. I don't see a bunch of engineers sitting around a table saying "Let's design these things so that they will last no longer than
X months". I do see them sitting around saying something like "We have X$ in the budget, we need to make this thing so it'll last as long as possible within that." Planned obsolescence simply is what it is, in the aspect of it'd be counterproductive to make
a controller hardy enough that it'd withstand the abuse of an angry orangutan when that drives up the cost. Also, consider that some people game maybe 5 or 6 hours a week while others game more than that in a day. In a perfect world, my controller would last
the life of my console, but considering the number of variables, it'd be impossible to achieve that for everyone.

Gotta wonder how much complaining there'd be and finger pointing at MS's stupidity if they made a super tough controller... I can almost hear it. "Why does this **** controller cost so much!? It's stupid! I'd be willing to replace a controller on occasion,
if it costs less, rather than pay this much! Why do I need a controller that'll outlast my console? I'm forced to buy it! My buddy has a controller that has outlived 3 bricked consoles! How stupid is that!? They should've put that R&D money towards the console,
it's the more expensive part! Geez, what were they thinking..."
