So is Warframe going to damage Destiny

I have been watching a few videos this afternoon on Destiny and the more I watch the more I like it. I was a bit unsure at first and was going to hold off until I heard feedback from you guys but the temptation got the better of me and I have ordered it.

As you can't really justify this "free to play, pay to win" model I understand how you have no alternative but to call me names and laugh nervously.

The only person who's actually made a sensible point here is Genchy, who rather than pretend this is not a "money sink" asks the question "what's the difference between spending £45.00 on this or £45.00 on "Destiny"?

One one level nothing really. You pay money for something you enjoy. However an App Store marketplace is aimed at the lazy, the idle and impulse buyer because this is the sort of person who doesn't really question how much they're actually throwing at
the game.

If you can have the full game for £45.00 then why not make it available for £45.00?

Because then they'd only make £45.00. Here the possibilities are limitless.

It's a shady and duplicitous model that most sensible people reject.

Games should be about fun. Not milking the consumer for every last penny they can get.

 

Oh Az, I guess you never studied business or deviated away from your menial job to understand real world economics.

Yeah, because Free to Play games are all about value.

If you felt more confident about your point of view then you probably wouldn't feel the need to try and be insulting to people.

The App Store is aimed at the lazy, idle and impulse buyers.

The goal is to get you to pay for something twice or three times over.

I'm not sure where you got your Economics lessons from but I think you are due a refund.

Try to disassociate the statement about the App Store Model from yourself.

That is the target market. You can download "Warframe" and not necessarily be lazy, idle or an impulsive buyer.

When Candy Crush asked me for £0.65 to keep playing or I had to wait I flushed it.

When it asks my wife she waits the 24 hours and plays for free.

But enough people pay the £0.65 to continue that King are never going to release a game that lets you pay for the game and enjoy it at your own pace.

It's a rip off model that is out of place on a £400.00 console and the faster we see the tail end of it the better.

Fortunately despite the 3 of 4 people rushing together to proclaim this a good idea most people have had an iphone long enough that they stopped downloading free to play app crap years ago.

 

You sound really bitter towards the whole concept....maybe you've run up a bill of a few hundred sheckles in the past?! It will never be 'Free to play, pay to win'. It should always be 'Free to play, contribute some money to the developers if you want to
improve your gaming experience'.

 

See I've seen a few people mention on the main XB1 forum about Warframe being a "Pay To Win" game but if it was something like Battleifield, Call of Duty then I could understand but Warframe is a "co-op" game so if someone wants to spend a fortune to get
all the best equipment straight away and ends up in a game with me, well he/she are doing me a favour.

As for being ripped off, in Warframe if your willing to put the time into you can see what the whole game has to offer without spending a penny. Take games like Destiny, COD etc, you pay for the game, season passes/DLC and I bet Warframe with the amount
of content it has will last longer than most so who's being ripped off in that sense?

At the end of the day each and every one of us are totally entitled to spend money on what we enjoy regardless of others opinions
