So is Hololens worth it if I only play multiplayer games- no campaign?

I was hoping I was going to be able to play Halo 5 with a 3D feature or realistic immersive experience but I read it's only for the campaign. How disappointing?

^^ Oh get off it. Titanfall is worth every bit the sixty bucks I paid for it. People need to get over this notion that a multi only game isn't worth full price. If any single player only games that the average gamer only gets at best 10 or so hours play
out of is worth full price, then so is the multiplayer only game that I'll likely put a couple hundred if not more hours into.

 

Guess LA Noire isn't my type of game

A game with only a single player campaign and no online multiplayer isn't worth it in my opinion. Most games come with single player, multiplayer and some sort of cooperative gameplay all for 60 bucks.

 

At the moment the Hololens seems to be an item that is most useful to businesses (architect 3d designers, engineers) with an ability to also use it for gaming. Time will tell if more immersive gaming related things will be available on the Hololens. If you
want 3D you might want to go with the Oculus rift, if your PC allows it since you will need to stream from Xbox to your PC

 

I was under the impression that hololens was a standalone device running windows 10 and not an xbox one peripheral. In other words a PC of it's own. And any games for it would have to written for it.

 

Idk why they put a device meant for business and PC on the front stage at the E3 Xbox event.

I'm assuming its because you can stream games to it with it having windows 10 but streamed games wouldnt have the same features as games built for it.

 

Because it's new tech and it can revolutionize gaming but at this stage of development there is not a lot of gaming related stuff that you can do on the Hololens, it has only been announced a few months ago. In the future I'm sure it will have loads of games
and gaming related extras but at the moment to me it feels more business related especially because it's gonna be a hefty price

 

I think the multiplayer only thing is kinda cool... like if we can play games with each other in virtual reality man that's awesome

 

Give it a couple years.

Think of mobile phones, they weren't amazing when first released, they were good for what they were intended. HoloLens was not originally intended for gaming.

In a couple years, it probably will be, and games will come pre-packaged with support for it.
