    So i redeemed a xbox live gold code

    Double check account.microsoft.com to make sure the gold was added to your account.

    If it was successfully added, try removing your account from the console and then re-adding it to see if that clears up the issue.

    If they are 14day or 48hour trials they don't give you gold hence why your status doesn't change they only give you temporary multiplayer access

    Xbox Live Code error Xbos-0x80169CF9

    I don't know if anyone else already posted the solution to this, but a friend had the same issue with the same error. The problem was, he was trying to redeem a code over a trial gold. Live Gold and Gold Trial, doesn't mix up, that's why the solution is
    to let the gold subsciption end and then redeem the code. So if you have a Live Gold and try to redeem a Trial code (like the one included with the xbox) or the other way around, it won't work.

    okay I have bf4 and whenever I try to play online it says I don't have the correct Xbox live functionality. So i try to redeem my Xbox live Gold code and i get error code 801612fb and this is the 2nd Xbox live gold membership I have bought.

    Did you redeem the code on the Xbox 360 console? If you did, I would suggest redeeming the code on your computer.

    You can redeem all types of prepaid codes, including Xbox gift cards, Xbox Live gold cards, and Xbox Music Pass cards, on a computer and have them applied to your account immediately. Here’s how:

    1. Go to www.xbox.com

    2. Sign in

    3. Go to the "Xbox Live Gold" tab and click "Redeem Code"

    That's it! Your Gold membership will be applied instantly.
