    So I played around to try get my latency lower but now this.


    Hi sorry if this has been asked before.

    I've recently been really fed up with the latency of 180ms within games while having 300Mb/s download. So I played around and tried the options that some have said. And now my download speed in the Xbox test is 20Mb/s and still 180, lowest I got was 140ms.

    However when I run the ookla speed test on Edge, I'm getting my normal and proper 300+Mb/s download and 7Ms latency.

    How come there's such a disparity between the two tests when surely the Xbox network test actually does test the network speed. And not the Xbox server speed.

    Please help with this.

    Information:

    I live in New Zealand.

    Xbox series S

    1Gb speed from router

    Fiber to the house

    Vodafone provider

    @ xEnViOuSxOnE... I am not an expert but I have been told anything over 100 is not good. I not an impact on my game play when it get over 120 or so. Yesterday I have latency from 4:00pm to about midnight that didn't go lower then 150ms and got up to around
    350ms. if your latency is 259ms this is seriously going to impact our gameplay. My issues is still not fixed an it has been since September. My latency problem stopped for about 30-45 days but since Christmas it has came back due to so many people being online.

    downloads and streaming, but multiplayer gaming is right out.
    Some of the speeds they advertise are around 1.5 MBPS.
    Mobile broadband will have lower latency than satellite, but lower bandwidth. Having said that, the latency's still pretty high
    (200ms or so).



    You could mix and match - use satellite for streaming video and downloading DLC and content, then switch to mobile broadband for gaming.

    I think it's because when you run the test it bounces ( probably a better way to describe it lol ) off a server in America so us in Europe get high latency ...

    Usually though the lower the latency number the better, when I last tested from the Xbox Dashboard mine was around 140ms, if I run a speed test from my laptop it's only 5ms which is ALOT better lol

    the xbox one latency issues are quite obvious with the current results im seeing posted. Hopefully this is patched soon but people want to be mainly around 80ms on latency or lower...next gen with old original xbox latency...nice.
