With electronic devices, a small percentage will always be DOA or have issues. It was the same with the PS4, as literally hundreds of people wrote 1 star reviews on Amazon due to theirs being DOA. People who have an issue are going to be the first to come
to the forum and complain, or to go to the retailer's website and leave a bad review. There could be inherent issues with the Xbox One, much like the dreaded RROD on the 360, but I don't think the complaints you're seeing now are evidence of that. It's too
early to say.



I think where MS need to step their game up is with customer support. The staff I've spoken to at MS have always been friendly and helpful, but their hands are tied by MS's rules. I think most people understand that sometimes things don't work out of the
box, but it's how the company deals with it that really matters and MS have some work to do there. If an individual component of an Xbox One system is faulty, such as a cable or controller, I should be able to quickly and easily get a replacement at no cost
to me, but in the UK at least, that's just not possible.

This is new. Honda has made cars for 60 years, they just had their largest recall ever. Ford has been at it for 100, same thing. Nokia has been making phones for decades, had a slew of problems. Apple? The "king" of quality control? Its 7th device had the
most issues. Mass produced devices have issues.

While it may seem like a lot of issues, if 1% of the units had issues, that 10,000 units with issues. If everyone who had a console that worked came here and posted - "Hey, my console works great!", you'd be overwhelmed with those comments, but people who
have a working console are playing in most cases or just responding as I am.

We have no idea what percentage are really having issues, but it is very likely within an acceptable range. Unfortunate for those experiencing it for sure though. And while this isn't new, this is completely new hardware, so it is pretty much new, not
like its an upgraded unit.

I really wouldn't let what you are seeing here keep this from you getting one.
