So for someone who can’t return it how do I get the power back to my usbs

I received my Xbox as a Christmas gift so I obviously don’t have any sort of warranty that I know of on it, everything has seemed great with it except now that I’ve gotten the Xbox branded battery pack I’ve been plugging it in and it hasn’t charged it at all enough to even flash the light. I’m not the type to really beat my controllers at all so I’d hope it not that. And now that I bought a Xbox wireless turtle beach headset the usb that plugs into the Xbox doesn’t even light up and this is brand new.

Long story short my conclusion is that it must be a fault in the usb ports themselves, would love to know if it’s just a setting I haven’t found somehow got switched or if there’s a way I could fix it, definitely not afraid to crack it open

Based on your issue description, it's most likely an issue with your console's USB ports since they cannot charge your battery pack and won't power up your wireless adapter for your headset.

We can do some troubleshooting steps here to further isolate the issue.

Please try to perform a power cycle. Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

I also suggest to plug your console directly to your wall outlet without using any surge protector.

Let's also check your power settings. If you're in Sleep mode:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.
Confirm that your power mode is set to Sleep.
Unselect the option When Xbox is off, turn off storage.
Restart your Xbox.

Hi Both,

I have just managed to do the above and get through to an agent who created the service order for me, has taken me days to get this far.

The device has already been updated with the returns shipping label, so I will be returning the device today.

So thanks for the advice above on how to actually get through to someone !!

I can’t find how to make my a new post but I too have been double charged, iv tried to speak to someone for 2 days now and get nowhere, I have checked my order history and nothing is on there so I can’t claim a refund, is it so difficult to speak to someone?

They don’t even care about people who have haf problems with a brand new series x. Let alone someone trying to buy one.

i was lucky enough to preorder one and i got it on launch day. It wouldnt power on! I tried to contact microsoft and they wouldn’t talk to me. They had a special automated option for returning. They gave me a return label, so i shipped it to them. This was
last week and theres been absolutly no update, the current status is requesting that i print out the label and send it back. There is a message saying that if they dont receive it within 30 days they will cancel the service order! I have no idea if i am getting
one returned. Had i known how horriable this service would be, id return it to Target.

for all i know, im never getting it back!
