So done with xbox already

^^ Why? It clearly states what will happen if you download the preview dash & then want to opt out.

It also clearly states that there may be problems with certain games,apps etc.

The preview has done exactly what it said & the op is moaning about it so is going to get criticised.

 

Sorry but the people who divide their time between playing the odd game and spending the rest of their lives here offering "XBox Counselling" need to realise they are being really unhelpful when they tell people "Yeah, you should have read the small print"
and "You should have done the research".

Even though they are technically right... mainstream society has better things to do with their time than dissecting the pros and cons of a video games system like they were proof reading a mortgage for their first house.

People buy "Call Of Duty" because they used to be good games.

People buy EA Sports titles because they used to be good games.

Many bought XBox ONEs on the strength of what great value for money the 360 was.

And now many regular people, for whom gaming is a small part of their lives, and for whom video games are one of a number of different sources of entertainment... are finding that we're not really getting a fair shake nowadays.

In their desire to make a profit Publishers are pushing things too far and we get sold games in pieces.

Sometimes that works great. Much of the rest of the time it doesn't.

With the Preview Program, people weren't starting 10 new threads a day begging to be included in the Preview Program because they wanted to help fault test the new dashboards.

So technically you're right when you say "hey dummy, you should have read the fine print" but the problem is when most people here say "hey dummy, you should have read the fine print" it's hard to not come across like a bit of a jerk.

Sure, technically everyone should have read the small print.

But Microsoft should have been more open about soliciting for "Crash Test Dummies".

 

Seeing your gamerscore I'm surprised you got into the preview program. Anyways I wouldn't back out of it unless I was positive it was necessary which you obviously weren't

 

If it was "fine print" I would be a bit more understanding, but it was "in your face" print. Too many people think/thought the beta/preview was a "Microsoft thinks I'm special! And they're giving me new toys to have before anyone else! Ha, ha,! (In a Nelson
voice from the Simpsons.)". My console has shown error codes twice now and has hung on the updates as many times; part of the deal. I spent the 30 seconds reading what could happen...30 seconds.

Edit: And for the record...I am kind of a jerk. Lol.
