So...Dolby Digital? Remember... Ummm ...Dolby Microsoft?

I can't believe I'm about to ask this question coming up on 3 months after launch for supposedly an all-in-one entertainment device.... WHERE IS THE DOLBY DIGITAL SUPPORT FOR TV? IS MICROSOFT SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! In order for me to get proper surround sound
when I really want it for example to watch sports I turn the One off and go through my regular HDMI feed from my cable-receiver-TV connection. Luckily this is not a big hassle since I have an HDMI switcher. But still what was MS THINKING? By the way there's
this thing called the Super Bowl happening this Sunday. I have a 7.1 surround set up and I want to experience the game in the best way possible. Sadly it won't be through the Xbox One since Dolby digital is unsupported through TV. I can't believe more people
aren't complaining about this :/

the DSS doesn't convert stereo. The DSS has dolby tech in it, produces dolby digital and dolby pro-logic IIz. I got dolby digital on my tv and they sound the same.

 

Dolby Atmos Problem bei 4K Filmen

Hi Leute,

ich hab folgendes Problem, meine Xbox One X spielt die Dolby Atmos App sowie Assassin’s Creed Origins perfekt im Dolby Atmos Tonformat ab.

Sobald ich einen 4K Film einlege (Logan, John Wick) mit einer Dolby Atmos Tonspur (Englisch) bekomme ich nur noch ein Dolby True HD Tonformat angezeigt. Ist das ein generelles Problem?

Vielleicht hat jemand das selbe Problem...

ya i hear you, mine makes a slight "clicking" noise when going through the dashboard because surround sound is broken...it gets worse when i try to enable "DTS". For now i set with hdmi audio off and surround sound set to uncompressed stereo, that is the
only way to make the "clicking" distortion only slightly annoying while navigating menus. It is suspect that they did release such a broken console...i mean come on, just simple basic functions/features are missing, redonkulous.

Of course I understand people wanting this feature and other features that are missing at the moment.

As others have said time and time again, the console is about 2 months old now, I don't think anyone seriously expected "everything" to be there at the start?

It's just a matter of being a little patient, I'm sure there's lots going on behind the scenes right now

 

its BROKEN if it doesnt work and its on my menus....stop making excuses for whats broken. If it makes my speakers click when switching menus on the dashboard then its broken, plain and simple...you might need to change your screen name to "that 1 dude that
keeps making excuses for MS".

 

You might want to change your name to "u go 6ft below and while you do that i'll sit here and continuously whine and complain about anything and everything about the xbox one"....... see what I did there?

you cant prove yours for me. Also on a side note its BROKEN if it doesnt work and its in the menus..stop arguing just to argue...its BROKEN, accept it, move on.

input support - Dolby Digital FROM a device over HDMI in.

 

mmm. I have my slim 360 plugged into my HDTV using HDMI connection and my TV says Dolby Digital 1080p connection. But when I connect my 1 to my HDTV using the HDMI cable which came with my Xbox 1, all it says is I only have a Stereo 1080p 12 bit connection.
I don't use a home theatre system but I do have a turtle beach dolby surround headset.

Three months after launch is February 22nd. It is February 1st. You're already aware the rumor mill says a big update is coming in March.

For those with large setups, they already have support
for uncompressed 5.1/7.1. For those with small setups, turns out stereo is pretty good.

I don't claim to be a manager. So why did you respond in such a way? Am I not allowed to express my frustration? Is it so bad for me to expect surround sound issues to be a non-issue for a device claiming to be an all-in-one entertainment device.

.....and why are you repeating what I said? Look at my original post. That's exactly what I said...YES THREE MONTHS IS FEB 22nd...that is why I said COMING UP ON THREE MONTHS because it was FEB 1st.

Also uncompressed is not a problem for blu rays. No problem there but if you go that route for regular TV viewing it's a problem... and for those that are content with stereo more power to them....but if I pay 500 bucks for an ALL-IN-ONE system then it's
hard to just sit back and just say stereo is fine.
