    Some Context.

I bought a Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Xbox One wireless headset and I'm trying to set the chat mixer to Only Chat so that I only hear party chat through my headset and everything else plays through my TV.. But the menu shown in this screenshot does not appear
when my Wireless Headset is connected to the Xbox One X.

I plugged a 3.5mm audio cable into my controller, the other end of the cable is plugged into NOTHING, and my wireless headset is turned off. And there, is the menu.

As soon as I unplug the cable, the audio menu disappears and the chat mixer is nowhere to be found in any other part of the Xbox Settings.

I just turned on my Wireless Headset while keeping the audio cable plugged into the controller(but NOT plugged into the headset) and I am able see the Audio Menu and change the Chat Mixer. As soon as I unplugged the cable from the controller, all the audio
settings disappeared and it went back to the default as if I did not change any settings at all.

So you REALLY can't adjust the chat mixer settings unless you keep an audio cable is plugged directly into the controller at all times?

Or am I missing something here?

    :)

So does this Audio Settings Menu REALLY only exist with an Audio Cable plugged into your Controller?

    Hey, Jay!

So I'm not sure about the specifics for why the audio settings disappear with the cord plugged in -- but I do think I have a pretty easy fix for what you're looking for.

I use Turtle Beach Stealth 600, but from what I looked up, the 700s also have the independent game/chat volume controls on the headset.
If you're wanting to only hear party chat in the headset, simply turn the game volume down on the headset itself and turn up the volume on your tv.
You shouldn't have to use the Xbox audio system to just have party chat in the headset when using Stealth 700s since the headset itself has a mixer.

    Hopefully this helps!

Xbox One - Headphone Mic Not Working

your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.

    External Speakers

    Hi there ,

You would want to check if your existing speaker has the optical audio option, if it does you can plug it into the console directly to use it for audio.

    Thank you!
Thank you, but it doesn’t have that option. It’s only audio input is aux.

My monitor has built in speakers and they are in 100% volume up but i cant hear any audio while playing game. I am connected with HDMI. Is there any solution? XBOX SERIES S

Hello Huseyn_171, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

You can check the console's audio settings. Make sure the audio output on your Xbox Series S is set correctly. To do so, follow these steps:

Turn on your Xbox Series S and go to the start menu.
Navigate to the Settings icon (represented by a gear) in the top right corner and select it.
From the Settings menu, select "Sound & Display."
Make sure the "Audio Output" option is set to "HDMI audio" so that the audio is sent through the HDMI cable.

You can also check the volume settings in this section and make sure they are not muted or set too low.

Check your monitor's audio settings Some monitors have specific audio settings that can affect sound output. Be sure to check your monitor's audio settings and make sure it is set to use the built-in speakers.

Try a different HDMI cable The HDMI cable you are using may have connection or audio transmission issues. Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your Xbox Series S to the monitor and see if that fixes the issue.

    Best regards.

    Sound.

In the settings on your tv, go to the menu to speakers. Go to the menu click audio, scroll down to analog audio out. You should have 2 choices, variable and fixed. Try fixed

It's not your hdmi cable. If this doesn't resolve the issue check your settings on your xbox. Under settings check your audio output

    Headset, tv or both
