My dad was a B-17 pilot with the 385th BG, 8th AF in England. He almost went to the Pacific. Long story..So, About Elder Scrolls Online.... ;)

I've not tried to buy a horse, that's a micro-transaction? If so, too bad, as it would make getting around less time consuming I assume.

I've not summoned (?) either pet yet. Do they assist you in anyway? Any perk to having them? Can they be harmed? They are sitting in the bank right now, as yet untouched by either myself or the girls. I see lot's of them running around.

Lastly, did something happen to this site again, another update or something, my bookmark doesn't work anymore and seemingly you have to sign in just to read the forum now. I noticed the ESO forum while hunting for this one, I suppose we should take our
musings there... lol. But I'll stay here too. So, About Elder Scrolls Online.... ;)

  2. My bookmark stopped working, too. I'm glad it wasn't just me. I naviag ted back to Skyrim and made a new bookmark which works. Once I signed in again and said leave me that way, I haven't had to sign in again.

The cheapest in-game gold horse is 17,500. You can upgrade to Imperial for $20 which gets you the white horse but it may be just the one like the pets. You can buy the palomino for $15 and I gather that gets you a horse for every alt you have at the time
but I don't know if they transfer should you delete a character. It would be something to find out ahead of time.

As for the pets, they just tag along behind you. They don't help and can get left behind if you run but they can't be harmed. The monkey just sits around going eep. The scutler is kind of cute in a baby dinosaur kind of way. I figured if I had them I should
let them out to play. The monkey tells everyone you were in beta, scutler that you got the pre-order pack and the crab that you got the imperial set.

I see, Thanks LadyB. I saw a discussion in the zone chat tonight about the economics of upgrading to the Imperial edition, -vs- buying a horse in game. About that time some sort of portal opened above me and dropped three 8th rank skeletons on my head. I
got two of them and nearly the third but he whacked me just before I released my arrow and dead was I. Pretty sure it wasn't an anchor because they sound like a Saturn V launch when they fire up. I guess the point if this meandering paragraph is I didn't see
anymore of the conversation regarding the horse.... lol.

Can you send the pets to bed when you feel like roaming alone or moving fast?

I do recall someone mention in the chat when I first got the game that if you delete your original character you risk losing your pets/horse/etc. Seems like you could just leave them at a bank/stable for a different toon.

On an aside... after watching E3 yesterday, as if I needed anymore convincing, due to ESO coming to the console this coming holiday season, I'm certain my next console will be an xbone, if only for the Halo Masterchief collection, all four games, plus Halo
5 Beta, re-imagined for that console and for the price of a single game. I know it's not your cup of tea... but what a great story LadyB. I don't do much multiplayer myself either. Other than ESO that is.

Yes, my son was a great fan of Halo and he appreciates a story to go with even a shooter over mindless mayhem.

You don't lose your pets or anything from your original character once you accept them. The confusion arose fro getting them in the mail but never opening and accepting the mail. Once you have then the pets can be put in the bank and withdrawn by other characters
on your account. I haven't actually tried to send them to sleep. They are just there being clutter and sometimes aren't but they come back. They can't be harmed and don't trigger awareness of your position if you are sneaking so I don't worry about them.

The advantage of a real money horse is that with the Imperial horse it can be had from level 1. The palomino can't be purchased until level 10 (I think) but the cheapest in-game horse requires a lot of gold, more than most low level characters can accumulate
without some serious effort. It's worse than trying to get together 5,000 gold for your first house in Skyrim.

Good to know about the pets. I will let my girls do what they wish with those.

I'm still on foot, I've found and ventured inside two of the instance dungeons in Auridon, namely The Banished Cells, and Toothmaul Gully. Holy jumping Khajiit! Toothmaul is populated with lvl 7-8 bad guys (I'm lvl 14) and a quest of it's own. I thought
I could sneak/snipe and pull it off, but was soon overwhelmed, just too many, too close to each other. I tried to keep up with a group but they were fairly disorganized and just ran in and started shooting up the place, and quickly split apart and melted into
the dungeon, and were gone. I'm used to a "little" more discipline and tactics in combat. Which would have worked well in Toothmaul.

The Banished Cells is another animal altogether, The bad guys are stronger and tend to hang in groups of three. One player was hanging just outside the entrance waiting for some friends, he leaning against a wall, playing some sort of string instrument...lol.
I asked him if he would mind if I joined he sent me a request. I waited around for a bit sniping bad guys for others on a quest that goes on nearby, fifteen minutes later his buddies still hadn't shown, so I said my goodbyes to the lute player and went off
to see what Grahtwood was like. Wasn't long before I regretted that died a couple times, then caught the next boat back to Auridon.

I'm going to build up some skill and hunt skyshards, If you need any help and are on weeknight evenings, and pretty much anytime on the weekends, my lvl 14 Bosmer can tank for you. Draco Lissa is at your service!

  6. Don't you hate when the bad guys are several levels below you and think, well, this shouldn't be too hard but it is? They gang up on you and you go belly up. It took me several tries to finish the rage cell in the Queen's Entourage side quest. There are
so many flame atronachs that a solo can't go in with guns blazing and expect to survive. I was running the Bosmer Nightblade so I finally took her in sneaking and picked off only the flames who were in the way one at a time then sneaked out again. I expect
it is much easier on high traffic times but I was absolutely alone until the very end when I finally succeeded.

Is it really busy at night? I know it is on the weekends.

  7. I looked at the new ESO trailer from E3 and I gotta say it really makes me want to go explore everything, preferably without dying a thousand deaths. It also makes me realize that I'm going to have to learn to like third person for group content. I was in
a biggish fight this morning at an anchor and just couldn't keep up. I had a healing spell so if I got in a crowd I threw that around and got credit for the closure but these people were fierce and I hardly saw the foe before it was down. That it was night
didn't help. Oddly, for all everyone is complaining about the ineffectiveness of the Nightblade mine at my piddly low level does well at the anchors. I just need experience as always.

I never got out towards where you run, Geddy, before my cat chased me off my chair. lol I don't usually play much on the weekend anyway because I hate being run over by horses and out competed at quest sites. It's easier to feel confident when alone, at
    least it is for me.

    So, About Elder Scrolls Online....

I hate dying only because every death costs me armor points and then gold to get it repaired! I'm a cheapskate at my core I guess. I haven't bought even one repair kit yet, as most at the beginning were above my level, I suppose @ 14 I might revisit the
    economics of buying one.

I use third person almost exclusively, even when sniping bad guys. In Skyrim I'm much better acclimated to the first person view, at least when sneaking and dropping bad guys from range. In ESO third seems much more suitable for melee and ranged combat.

I generally don't find so many people online at night that they are in my way, at least in the north of Auridon where some 15-16 level quests occur. That being said there are still plenty to help with anchors and other missions if you hang out for a bit.

Down near Vukhel Guard there are more people. But the only place I find "really" crowded though is the Treasury House there, with everyone piled 3 deep to use the bank. Even so, I have never had to wait for a "teller". As for being run over by horses I don't
even get out of the way when one is bearing down on me, because players pass right through each other anyway.

I can still count on one hand the number of invites people have sent asking me to join, and none talk to me. I usually send a quick summary of my skills (and shortcomings) and what quest I'm doing, hoping for some feedback on tactics. Never happens, people
tend to rush in and rock and roll, which is fine, I can do that if necessary. But I prefer a more calculated thoughtful approach when time is available.

For instance with my bow, I can drop enemies up to lvl 13 to their knees from a sneak position, knocking roughly half their HP off as well. While they are staggered I can fully draw my bow for a second shot, less powerful since they know where I am now (my
invisibility only last 2.5 seconds). I shoot again which un-stuns them, then hit them with my siphon and they are dead before they ever get near me. With a partner they would never get up from my (or my cohort's ) first strike and both would get loot.

This would be ideal for when the bad guys are paired up as two could be dispatched before they ever get in melee range, or even in three's, outright killing the first two and tag teaming a hapless third.

I think I'm back in Vukhel Guard right now, and I'll stay in the mid and southern latitudes of Auridon, helping others, until I get some reliable help or muscle up some more. It's pretty hairy in the north, like Game Of Thrones.... haha.

As always, if you're in a tough spot any evening, call the Marines if I'm on. Not those First Auridon posers either... So, About Elder Scrolls Online.... ;)

Can you do the anchors more than once? I've done two of them. so long ago now I can't remember which, the map doesn't seem to tell me which ones... I really should keep a written journal of my own in conjunction with the games journal.

I'm fortunate during summer, the girls play all day long, by the time I get settled after work, they and mom are off to the pool until sundown. Pretty relaxed schedule around my house in the summer!

  9. Yes, as best I can tell anchors can be done anytime one drops. I have had repeats on the two near the bottom. Today, I was just trying to thin my inventory and get my two mains lightened up. I finally took the mage into Ondil. It wasn't bad because there
were quite a few others there to help. I finally found some nice light armor for the mage as in a jerkin and breeches. She even looks good in them. I think I made her boobs too big though. Saw some low level naked people at the bank. I couldn't help but wonder
why any guy would make himself balding and then run around in his drawers. That just made no sense. There was also an overblown amazon in her undies but I figured some guy made her.

Sounds like life is good up your way.

I tend to avoid the two most southern anchors as I'm pretty sure I've done them, and am usually on my way somewhere else when that noise begins and the Saturn V launch noise begins.

What? Boobs too big??? Never! lol. My daughter made this toon I'm using and she went hog wild with Draco Lissa's bustline. She said, and I agree after making a female mage for myself, from the creation room to the real world the boobs look different, appearing,
errr.... less dramatic in the creation phase, but once out in Tamriel, they blossom.

At any rate Lissa doesn't look top heavy from many angles, but every so often I get an angle where she looks like she needs a kickstand.

I would prefer some light armor for Lissa, however, by and large the good stuff I get from questing is mostly heavy, some medium mixed in. I don't craft with this character...yet. So I have to make do with what I'm given or find. Seems like the market area
in vukhel guard has at least one teenage boy with a female running around in her undies. Thank the nine that undies in this era are clean at least. Which begs the hypothetical question, Where are these kids parents anyway?

Life isn't always good, the school of hard knocks is never fair, and beats some down far worse than others, and though often not readily apparent, there is almost always a lesson in there. I'm still trying to figure out a few of them, I'm certainly not alone
in that. But at the same time I have been strangely fortunate and I HOPE it continues for as long as I do. Persevere!

  11. Hi Geddy. I saw you on XboxOne as I was passing through to get to Crunchyroll. What are you playing these days? I started a brand new Sorceress (with smaller boobs and bootie) and am taking her carefully through Khanarthi's Roost. I wasn't totally pleased
with the other one so hopefully when the console drops I will have a Bosmer and Altmer ready to transfer. I don't plan to go any further than Auridon with either but will probably manage to finish that far. i don't give it more than a couple of hours during
the day during the week. Otherwise I get tired of sitting at the computer.

Hi LadyB, I squeezed the trigger on the Xbone, had Amazon GC's & coin from the change jar to offset the cost. Got the Titanfall version & an extra controller (it only comes with one). It showed up Monday afternoon. Currently it's hard wired into my TV &
U-verse set top box, so the One is on when folks are watching the main TV, when I walk by it kinect logs me in (you can set it not to).

FYI, if it helps, the console/kinect work very well with my U-verse STB and Vizio TV. Talking to kinect is actually easier than hunting for three different remotes, so for now it will stay integrated, works very well so far. (KOW!)

I played Titanfall (4+ hours to D/L that game) but it's not for me, girls love it of course. Looks amazing tho. Spartan Assault (Halo) is the Xbone "free with gold" game this month so I'll probably try that.

My gaming time is infrequent lately, when I do it's ESO. Gamestop gave 60 days for the price of 30 since I had pre-ordered the console Imperial version. That on top of the 30 days from buying the PC version will get the girls through summer. I will take
my Bosmer girl up to 20 before I'm happy enough with her to transfer, then I'll work on the Altmer mage, Gensher of Way (Earthsea trilogy influence), get him up there too, prior to ESO console release.

I've wised up & use the wireless keyboard/mouse as intended & sit in a comfy(er) recliner a little bit further back from the screen, but even then a couple hours is about all I can take. I'm at a point now where the Bosmer is too strong to get much benefit
from whacking around lvl 10 or lower baddies & not strong enough to face more than one 16/17 or above & there are always at least two together in these instance dungeons. Waiting around for help is not my strong suit. I grow frustrated often & just turn the
    game off.

    Peace!

I have got to get me a horse! I finished up Tanzelwill and there I was halfway across the island with a full inventory. There was nothing to do but run back to town because I haven't opened Mathiisen yet. I need a horse, I just hate to spend real money on
one. I suppose that when we transfer to the console things like our pets and horses will go with the account.

Have you named your pets? I decided they needed names so my monkey travels with the Sorceress and is named Izzy and the Scutler travels with the Nightblade and is called Reggy. I don't have a crab and the sorceress doesn't have any conjured help. If I buy
the Palomino his name is FishyStick so that will have to be changed. Maybe Trigger?

    So, About Elder Scrolls Online....

I couldn't agree more. I don't like spending time in game not adventuring. Going to a damn bank is annoying enough in real life. We probably all play games to escape reality in some fashion or magnitude, banking is one bit of reality I can do without, unless
I'm getting a loan for a new bike...lol. My inventory is usually full, and the bank is getting there, however I'm not spending nearly a quarter of my gold for ten measly slots.

I finished Mathiieson few days back, and last night was able to finally beat down the Veiled Queens final three henchmen in the Veiled Keep. Still some lower level quests I have not finished yet I'm finding like running the Heritance soldiers and pyro's
out of that burning town whose name I can't recall, nor spell probably. I finished that up last night, pretty easy when the bad guys are all level six and you are 11...lol. Plus I need no more incentive than rescuing Marines to make the bad guys dead... ;)

BTW a question... How do I get the quest for Del's Claim again? I went in there after someone whispered me there was a skyshard in there. All the bad guys are 7's I think. I could mop the floor with them, and did so with any that got in my way. I did see
a book with a quest marker but stayed away from it since I had no business being in Del's other than the skyshard.

We should roll together sometime on Auridon LadyB, my daughter has taken over my Breton mage and I her Bosmer, it seems we each created a character the other likes better, definitely dad's girl. :)

My (her) archer Nightblade babe is pretty good with a bow, can siphon and assassinate pretty well too, not much for healing though, other than siphoning bad guys to reclaim some health, about to pop level 12. Peace
