So, about Destruction magic...

I've only made it of the tower where one of the beards guy is always shouting from. Other than that Ethereal shout has been fun watching me fall to my death. Timing is almost never right. lol!

I wouldn't give up playing X-Box with the kids for nothing. I still have one of our Kinect sessions saved. Funny how hard they tried to whoop up on me at Bowling. Poor little ladies.

Question about Destruction magic Damage output

the best thing i have found is to just enchant your armor with x% less to cast destruction spells. If you can get x to 100% then destruction spells cost nothing and you can spam them all day long without losing magika. Its not really more damage but being
able to cast the spell indefinitely definitely helps a lot. Nothing like running around with a never ending flame lol.

After putting my Warrior on the shelf I have been playing a Spell Sword or Battle Mage whatever ya want to call it.

I am level 32 and as far as I can tell.... no. Aside from the perks you mentioned {and higher level spells} everything seems to be for cost reduction for magic rather that increasing damage.

 

I just hop down from High Hrothgar without using become ethereal. I always wanted to jump off the bridge at the college and see if become ethereal would help me. Maybe I will. The last time I went to Lost valley redoubt, I got the third word of become ethereal
but didn't have any dragon souls. I started to just wait for the Bard's Leap but then said "what the hay, I'll just save". So I jumped as far as I could to be sure I hit the water with just two words of the shout and lived to talk to the bard.

I like games that have achievements for doing off the wall things. I liked Xenoblade Chronicles a lot. The world is actually the bodies of two giant robots that have become planet like. That being said there are many places where there is nothing next to
you but clear blue sky and the urge to see what would happen gets very strong. If you give in and take a dive, there is an achievement granted. That game has many cool achievements. it's too bad it was such a limited release and for the Wii. I pre-ordered
it as soon as I saw a review that liked it and said it was much like FF XII which I absolutely loved.

Oh, the cats get unhappy because I have to dump them every time I get up and they consider me in my chair to be their personal bed with no rights to moving. When he was in high school, I would call my son to get me tea or do whatever so I didn't have to
disturb the cats. It's the same two cats grown old and obviously spoiled.

 

Just remember you can't shout while falling. You have to do it just before you jump. I must have been lucky at Bard's leap. I didn't shout or anything. Just said Bonzai and ran off the edge. lol!

Sounds like my puppies, I just have to tell them "Bootscoot" and they let me up.

 

On several occasions, at several locations I've used the whirlwind shout to propel myself, Wyle E Coyote-like, off a precipice in an attempt you reach a nearby body of water, failing as often as not, and splating on the rocks that are usually below. Surely
I'm not the only one?

 

LMAO! I did that when trying to get to some ledge up in the reach once. I finally made it after adjusting the shout and where I was standing. There's a broken tower with a chest sitting there, No way to get it that I could find except for whirlwind. Jumped
over the tower 3 times, crashed into the tower twice and then finally made it. Just some of the fun you can have with this game. Try running out into the water from the beach.

Oh! and jumping over the tower is certain death by the way!

 

It must be the male mind at work. I can get stubbornly determined as well but I recognize some things as suicidal.

As I sat nursing a sore back I decided to upgrade the archers armor because hers was a mishmash and then went up to the college and jumped off the bridge. I couldn't reach the water but all that happened was I went uggh. Then I watched an anime episode and
quit. I've been sitting all day and my brain is stagnant.

 

Sometimes we just need to veg out and do nothing at all. Helps clear our mind of the clutter. I usually find something that is completely mindless to do. Like solitaire.

 

Yes, I've noticed that you like solitaire. On the 360 I like Bejweled and Hexen. Hexen is great for self-hypnosis since it has chill music as a background. My favorite casual games are three in Hoyle Puzzles and they are on nothing but Mac & PC. I really
wish they were on the iPad. Flowfree on the iPad is also good for vegging the brain. I ended up reading manga. I am afraid it was a weekend of ESO that killed my back. That distresses me even though I wasn't really going to get it for the Mac.

 

No fun having a sore back at all. No solitaire here, but sometimes I veg to mindless TV watching.

Thanks to TLB, I finally have 100 in Conjuration. For some brain freeze reason I was trying to cast "raise undead" spells instead of soul trap on the dead buggers. Buddy has a buddy. All is well.

On topic (sorta) I was messing with the single/dual hand spell releases whilst doing the soul trapping and was startled to find that the level raised quickest when doing (squeeze left trigger, then squeeze right trigger, hold, release both) instead of (squeeze
both triggers, hold, release both). Unless I don't have a perk on, I thought the powered version was at both triggers at once (overcharge?).

 

I found that to be true as well. I don't have dual cast on conjuration though so releasing them together should still count as two releases not an overcharged single. On the other hand power leveling alteration doesn't work faster with both hands doing detect
life. However, if one hand is doing detect life and the other is doing telekenesis it raises very fast. I never really timed it to see if I actually need to be holding something, I just held an apple. When I was trying to raise illusion to 50 so I could get
silent casting I did detect life with one hand and clairvoyance with the other but with that you have to have an active quest so the spell has a target.

 

So all you need to do is grab something with TK and not throw it back?

I'm usually casting Detect Life from my perch high on those rocks, located just on the other side of parapet wall of the Solitude's forge, that parapet wall is broken right where it meets, the huge wall that cordons off the residential area from the market
area. I face Bits n Pieces with the fish monger on the very left edge of my peripheral vision. A lot of people are out starting about 8 am. Around mid day my daughters are out there, three urchins running around playing tag, and I make Lydia stand out there
too. When the numbers dwindle I can turn 90 degrees CW and pick up all the knuckleheads in the training yard and up on the walls for a couple more hours as well.

Nothing to grab up there, I'll have to drop an apple near by and grab it with TK.
