Ohhh, ouch. Sorry to hear about your Kinect. I hope she returns to you soon. I also did not care for the OG Kinect, I have 2 games for it and I can not finish them, Fable the Journey and Child of Eden. I came into this generation skeptical about the
new Xbox Experience but excited. And I have not been let down.

You know, I almost thought it might be cool to have the double tap X and all that for game DVR... but then I started thinking. The main reason I use 'record that' is so I don't have to interrupt my gaming at all in order to do it. It has absolutely zero
affect on my game or how I'm playing it. No matter how fast, or how few, button presses are always and will always be something that will affect your game... or at least how you're playing it.

So, even if I could 'do it faster via pressing buttons' I couldn't do it more efficiently and without interrupting my game via pressing buttons... therefore voice commands, at least in game, stay for me.

Although, what I've been wondering about is... what happened to the idea of using the Kinect to scan your face into an RPG? And what happened to the technology like we saw in one of the promo videos where the kid scanned his skate board in? Where are the
games that were alluded to, that could use Kinect to read your pulse and/or facial expressions... and therefore they could adjust certain aspects of the game to play more like the player prefers using that info as a 'like / dislike' guide? That was the tech
that really interested me about Kinect. Not just voice messaging and not games that are solely based on Kinect.

i think its great alot of people dont own kinect and some people who do dont want to use it pretty stupid to be upset about something like this when its only positive

 

I think this is great news gg, even though I have a day 1 with kinect the option to sit there talking to the console doesn't exist. %100 headphones for me due to noise restrictions, with this console there needs to be options for all different types of gamers.

 

Well it's fine for me since I have a kinectless MADDEN bundle. Now I was hesitant about a non kinect ONE but have adapted to just snap dvr and click 30 seconds then end clip. I do wish a timer would tell you how much time has or is passing from the point
you hit the guide.

So GG it is double click XBOX BUTTONbutton and wait the appropriate amount of time, 30, 40, or up to five minutes, then hit X?; right. Well well. So no $150.00 kinect for me come October. Woooo hoooooooo.
