Snapcenter - death of "Xbox record that?"

So, in the latest update for Xbox One, that will become available to everyone in October, there is the snapcenter. It makes snapping and doing other things much easier and faster as well as intuitive (for example, many things that used to take up the entire
screen now don't, such as threaded messages). Among them is the ability to use it to record clips without the need of having to say "Xbox record that" - all you have to do is press the Xbox button in the center of your controller twice and then press X. I've
learned that I can do this very quickly, even faster than I can say it. As a supporter of the Kinect, this actually upsets me because many others who support the Kinect often say that "Xbox record that" voice command is one of the key reasons they love to
use it so much. Now, with the snapcenter giving you the ability to do the same thing, and faster, and still without leaving your game, there is one less reason for any of us to use our Kinect sensor.

What are your thoughts on this?

No option to record or screenshot gameplay

With the February preview update my option to record gameplay in "snapcenter" (when you double tap X) disappeared. I assumed it was just a bug and will be patched. Now with the March preview update I still have no option to record gameplay nor do i get the
option to screenshot. Now I have no way of putting content out with upload.

Does anyone else have this issue or a fix?

 

Game DVR recording wrong moments

I'm having a very strange issue where, while playing Titanfall, if I use the "Xbox: record that" voice command, it records an earlier clip. I don't know if this helps but there seems to be a pattern where the clips are usually of my last death. If I say
"Xbox: record that" after getting a kill, when I view the clip it is almost always 30 seconds of footage that ends with the death before I respawned and gave the command. This makes me wonder if it's a Titanfall issue, since I can't imagine the game DVR can
differentiate deaths in this way, but maybe it's just a huge coincidence. Anyway, I didn't see any posts about this issue and it's hugely annoying to do something you want to save, say "Xbox: record that" and then go to view the clip, only to find that it
recorded the death before your great moment instead.

Anyone else have this problem or any tips to fix it?

 

Still love voice commands, still need that lil cam for Twitching, skyping, or simply continually talking when I want to step away or unplug my mic.

Oh and btw what does it matter the whiners gonna get there way wether we like it or not.

 

I hope that the new update wouldn't kill the Kinect, but rather give new players who get an One without Kinect (for any reason) a chance to record their gameplay clips with ease also.

I hope to get one around the holidays but thought that recording gameplay would be nigh impossible without Kinect. Now with this new update, hopefully my experience with an Xbox One would be just as good as people with a Kinect.

 

I will still use Kinect. I don't wanna double tap & press X especially if I'm still in the middle of a strike or something.

My thoughts are this, ABSOLUTELY NOT. I hate Double Tap to Snap, it is inconsistent and I hope it is removed. Someone in the Update Preview has an alternative to Double Tap to Snap and I hope it is implemented.

I will be saying Xbox Record That for the entirety of the 8th Generation.

 

i'm not bothered by this, i still use the voice commands for "record that", but i would like to see them add more to it, so along with double tapping home and hitting X to record, also have the option to hit LB to DVR the last 5 minutes, and hit RB to start
recording the next 5 minutes.

but i feel that the more options the better, it's clear that MS is not taking the Kinect as seriously as they implied, and there is clearly a number of people that will refuse to use, so i think this serves to enhance the overall experience.

 

To be fair double tap of the home button is faster than voice if you don't count actually saying it due to the delay with voice.

Won't stop me using it though.

 

It is not really a snap, it's a sub snapped screen that works with the D Pad it's actually really easy and really fast to use. Even while in game during chaos you can get a clip recorded faster than when saying it.

The feature works very well.

What is this other option NxtDoc?

 

The basis for his idea is that on the Xbox 360 there was no double tap to go anywhere, you pushed the button for the guide menu (Snap Menu now) and when the menu was up you pushed Y to go to the dashboard.

Currently on the Xbox One you can do this with the X button to record a clip, but there is nothing for the Y button.

Simple take away the double tap feature (which only works 75% of the time for me) and make it so if you want to go home you push Xbox Button then push Y.

Record that is the only voice command I can't always get to work, but I started using smart glass for it but only after the voice command hasn't worked, always nice having options and backups.

 

Yea I can't say that's dumb, most most of the people making the argument about 360 this 360 that don't understand how different the process is simply cause the suspended feature. On 360 you had to turn off what you were doing if you wanted to do anything
else, I'm sure you know that... But These lames don't. Press y and the menu comes up, or double tap home and the same thing happens.... Who cares. I should not have to start using more features just cause some lop without a Kinect could not let some with a
vision attempt to fulfill their dream.

It's actually really sad that no one can create their own visions without being scrutinized by morons.

 

I agree Listed mia. I love the Kinect, I love the Voice Navigation. And I hardly ever have to repeat myself. I am not opposed to options for the Kinect-less (I dubbed them the "Stranded" in my inner circle of friends, Gears of War reference). So long
as my Kinect experience stays whole.

 

Oh no doubt Doc, I'm feeling extremely stranded since my Kinect died. At first I found myself repeating commands then going aaaaw oh wait It's dead. So I guess in away these extra options are getting me through my kinectless times but I can say I am missing
her!

Just too add I did not have or like Kinect last Gen!
