    Smoking Xbox One Console!


    Hey All,

    I started playing Fora Horizon 2 for about 10 minutes this morning on my Xbox One, before it just completely shut off. My TV and Receiver remained on though so I knew it had to be an Xbox Issue. Very quickly I started smelling something burning so I unhooked
    the Xbox One and tried plugging it into the outlet on the other side of the wall. I have pictures and videos to clearly show it happening. I contacted Xbox Support and they want to charge me $115 to fix the issue which is just absurd! This is clearly a safety/fire
    hazard! Is there anything else I can do? All I want is for the to fix what's wrong. I understand being out of warranty is one thing, but having an issue like this is insane and should be corrected!

    mine did the same so I came here looking for advice, definitely looks like its a manufacturing issue and fire risk! on the phone now booking a replacement...

    Boost, I had to use a bobby pin as a paperclip wasn't strong enough - you really have to push it in to pop the disc out.

    I'd suggest contacting official support via chat or telephone.

    its really an official response that you need even though you called once, sometimes calling back outside of the moment and calmly going through everything helps.

    The console is approximately 4 years old. I don't think it's under warranty. But smoke shouldn't be coming out of it. I'm just thankful that a fire didn't start.
    The out of warranty repair cost is around $135 USD.
