    I was watching Homeland using the showtime app on my Xbox One. I was also using Smartglass on my Surface Pro 3. I decided to click a panel next to my current episode marked "Xbox Video Companion". The smartglass screen went white. It didn't crash, but there
    was nothing there. I was able to back out of that screen. I noticed that the "Xbox Video Companion" app is marked as compatible with "Movies & TV", the Xbox One app which lets you PURCHASE content.

    It appears that the upshot of this is:

    Smartglass enhancement is only available when purchasing content from the Movies and TV app, EVEN IF you already own that content through a streaming service. So even though I have Showtime and can watch Homeland, I can't get the Smartglass enhancement unless
    I buy episodes that I already have access to.

    Or am I wrong?

    Xbox live status is WRONG!

    Xbox says only community and online games are down but everything else is ok. This is i lie, i can not access xbox video, netflix or amazon. Im having to watch netflix on my daughters wii. Thank god that system is reliable. Im miffed mainly because the content
    i wanted to watch on xbox video which i pay over the odds for anyway and i own is not available. I feel cheated!

    Controller skipping

    On any downloaded video streaming app (Netflix, Hulu, history, etc), once the app launches, the selection box always stays on the bottom row. I can't scroll up to select the upper boxes. On Netflix, scrolling up or down causes it to skip every other line
    and every other video scrolling left or right. Controls work fine in Xbox video, xbox music, games, etc. It's only on downloaded streaming apps. I have tried both controllers, smartglass on 3 different platforms, and a Xbox remote from eBay. None of them will
    allow me to scroll upward on the streaming apps. I also have deleted and redownloaded the apps and still have the same result.

    I'm having a similar problem with Netflix, Xbox Video and Amazon Video. I can hear background noises, music etc..., but no voices!

    ????? Movie trailers are VERY availible. Xbox Video, Netflix, Youtube, Flix, Stars, Crackle, HBO Go... ETC etc...... The trailers have gone nowhere. In fact most every item avilable for purchase has a preview....... I fail to see the issue.

    Xcloud battery drain

    Hi,

    When you play Xbox cloud streamed games on your android device all the hard work is performed server side and sent to your phone as a video feed. All your phone does is process the video. I can only assume the battery drain is down to the screen.

    Try to turn down the display brightness, the video resolution on the phone and any 'Video Enhancement' settings. You should find 'Video Enhancement' in your phone Settings > Display.

    Video Enhancement will override what your phone brightness settings are and will consequently drain the battery more.
