Smartglass crashing

EST is 4 hours behind GMT if I'm not mistaken so it would sink to +00 Hours on the World clock. Try my solution as a possibility.

 

Just tried METAL R3dback's suggestion and was able to get beta application to load. Seems he is correct about it being a time issue.

You would think we would be past all these bugs with date and time by now in modern software. I hope they push an update out ASAP so everyone else out there doesn't freak out and we all don't have to set device time manually.

Its crashing on my 635 but working fine on my ipad at the moment

 

Also experiencing the same instant crash issue when using the Smartglass app (beta and release versions) on a Lumia 930. Works fine on a Surface Pro 3.

 

Correction: this is NOT working on a Surface Pro 3. Interestingly on my Surface Pro 3 the app was still open from last night so it looked like it was working. After closing it and trying to launch it again, I now have the same instant crash issue on this
device

 

Same for me; not working on Surface Pro 3 or HTC One M8 running Windows. Worked yesterday.

It is almost certain a windows based issue at this point as my android tablet is working fine.

Crashes on Lumia 735 OS WP 8.1 (update)

also crashes on my windows PC OS windows 8.1

 

Crashes on Nokia Lumia 520. Thankfully Metal Redback's solution offers a temporary fix Neither version of smartglass will work otherwise.

 

This is happening on windows phone and my windows tablet. Changing the time to 2014 fixes it, is there going to be an update soon to fix this properly?

 

It's not just me then! Phew!

Both the standard and beta versions instantly close on my Lumia 1520. It's working fine on the wife's HTC ONE M8 android though.

 

I have the same issue. SmartGlass is crashing when I try to use it.

It is not working on my Lumia 625. Also it is not working also on y Windows 8.1 PC and also its not working on my windows tablet.

Please fix this as soon as possible.

 

Okay, everyone.

So, Smartglass issues should now be resolved.

On Windows 8, both Smartglass and Smartglass Beta have updates. Force the Store to check and you should see them and be able to update, after which they will begin working for you.

On Windows Phone 8, there is an update for Smartglass. Check in the Store, update and you should now be able to update the app.

For Windows Phone 8, I have been told there is an update coming for the Smartglass
Beta app but it is not yet available; it's in the pipeline (certification and such), so hopefully it's not more than a matter of hours before you can update that version and start using it.
