Smartglass crashing

is something going on with the app? On both my wives and mine 1520 the app is immediately crashing. Anyone else having this? I am weirded out it is happening on both phones suddenly.

Xbox One Smartglass Crashing

I'm experiencing the same issue on an iPad Air. I have tried the suggestions above, but SmartGlass is still crashing immediately after it opens.

iPad Air

iOS 7.1.2 (11D257)

SmartGlass 2.9.

Wifi connection

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the crashing issue. What version of the SmartGlass app is downloaded to your iPod? You can check the version from your SmartGlass app by going to Settings and then scrolling to the bottom of the screen. The version number will be right
above the What's new section. Let's see what we can do to help get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• Try deleting and reinstalling the SmartGlass app again by pressing on the SmartGlass app and pressing the X in the left hand corner.
  
• Select Delete and then from the App Store, search for SmartGlass.
• Select Xbox One SmartGlass and press the Cloud icon in the right corner to download the app.
  
• Once the SmartGlass app is downloaded, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for 10 seconds.
  
• As soon as your iPod powers on, try loading the SmartGlass app.

Give the suggested steps a try and let us know if you are still continuing to experience the SmartGlass app crashing.

 

Also not working on my old 920.

 

Having the same issue. Was working 1 minute and then now crashing on 4 separate devices. L1520, SurfacePro2, Win8.1 and Galaxy4. Crashes immediately whether connected to the internet or otherwise.

 

This seems fairly widespread already.

I was having (unrelated?) issues with my Smartglass Beta app, so I uninstalled tonight. After reinstalling, the app will fail to load upon pressing the Tile. The Start screen will disappear, as if the app is about to open, but it instantly crashes back to
the Start screen.

Is that what you're all seeing?

I have uninstalled, rebooted my phone, reinstalled, rebooted again and it still fails. This was all the Beta app. I then saw someone else report issues with the regular app and noticed it had exactly the same issue (it was already installed to my phone).

So it seems widespread and none of the normal troubleshooting worked for me - though it would be interesting to see if you all could check that too.

Considering it's happening to all of us, it's likely something with the app, but try the uninstall/reboot method and see what happens.

Right now I would not recommend anyone factory reset a phone, but if someone has a spare device having this issue, it would be interesting to see if a factory reset resolves anything. Again: there is NO reason yet to try this with a primary device, it's
not clear it will help.

 

@Todd: You're seeing it happen on Android too? Galaxy S4? And Windows 8.1? That's interesting. Unfortunately I don't currently have access to any other devices to see if that too is consistent with everyone.

 

Yes instant crash is what I am seeing also.

 

Yes, I am seeing Xbox One SmartGlass crash on launch on Windows and Windows Phone as well - though I am not seeing it on my Nexus 11 (or iPhone/iPad). Looking into this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

I am having the same issue on my windows phone but not on my tablet

I'm experiencing the problem since a few hours too. I know that Maxen13 experienced them way earlier than I experienced them.

 

This has started happening to be this morning. Worked fine last night, but now won't even get to the green splash screen. Just bins out to windows. I'm on a Lumia 1020. Also tried it on WiFi and the cell network, with no change.

 

Guys, I've found a very makeshift solution. Change your time settings back to 2014, have a feeling there is some Y2.015K sort of thing going on with SmartGlass.

It will ask you to reenter your most recent password but other than that it seems fine.

 

Similar issue here tried both the beta and regular versions nd instant kick back to home screen on my Lumia 920 running dev preview. Tried the uninstall and reboot and nothing. Started for me around 8PM EST 12-31-14.
