SmartGlass App and Win10 Xbox App will not turn on Xbox

So I noticed this issue for a while now. To rid of the 'low hanging fruit' responses here is the set up:

• XBox One on LAN
• Desktop on LAN
• Android Phone on WAN
• Windows Phone on WAN
• XBox in Instant On Mode
• Using the Xbox One Smart Glass App on both Windows and Android Phone
• Using the built-in Windows 10 Xbox App

Xbox will turn on\off with the button pressed on the console remote. Both the Win10 App and the Smart Glass App will turn
off the XBox but they will
not turn it on. Attempting to turn it on gives the generic "Are you sure you are on the same network" message?" Obviously everything is on the same network but there is really no other troubleshooting I can do short of restoring the
Xbox.

Xbox one does not turn on over network.

First of all wow what a system the XBOX is. And I really love gamestreaming to win10. First I was able to turn the xbox on with smartglass and the xbox app on win10. Now it does not turn on. The system is in sleep mode and the settings are as described
on the xbox website. Also all devices are on the same network. Still it won't turn on over network anymore.

Does anybody have an idea to get this solved? It bugs me when I am upstairs to play a game over the network and then have to walk down to turn on the xbox one first.

 

App wont turn console on

Im having an issue with the xbox app on windows 10 and the smartglass app on ios not turning my console on. Ive tried with my Windows 10 PC (xbox app), Windows 10 laptop (xbox app) and my Ipad (smartglass app), none will power my console on, they will all
connect to it when its on and turn it off though. My Xbox is set to instant on and everything is on the same network with the same Microsoft account logged in. Any ideas?

Thanks but this is a support side of the forums and i recommend this to be in the discussion side of these forums. I appreciate the tip but the sticky threads are there to keep people aware of the issues and will post solutions for these problems.

 

I've run into this issue myself, and the only way I've been able to get around it is with a hard reset, but I've gotten mixed results with that too. I have the same network setup as you, except I'm using a laptop on WAN instead of a desktop. I don't think
it's your network, I just think sometimes the console ignores the packets that are supposed to wake it up. When you're running into this, try opening the guide on your console, then going to Settings, the Restart console. I also close whichever app I'm trying
it with and reopen it.
