Smart pistol fix incoming

Update 4 was great, but it broke the smart pistol. If you were sprinting with it, it would constantly lose the locks and sometimes even when you had locks, you'd pull the trigger, the gun would fire, but the targets would remain unharmed. Here's a video

One of the devs from Respawn posted on the forum today to say that the issue is fixed, so it's just a case of rolling out the patch. Hopefully it'll happen soon as I'm trying to complete the gen 9 challenge where you have to get 75 pilot kills with the smart
pistol and it's been utterly painful trying to do it with it in its broken state!

Co-Op Coming to Titanfall in Next Update

I tried it last night. Started with 4 players; ended up with only me & one other sticking it out 'til the bitter end.

It was really fun, having to rethink the maps, planting turrets, learning to keep at range. Made a tonne of xp, as well. Went from level 20 to level 25 in one game.

p.s. Smart pistol best pistol, for nailing a dozen incoming suicide-specters in one shot.

I hate it, but it kills. Gun with an aim bot. Does take some skill but once earned its scary. I need allot of practice.

Ah. Very good to hear this. I'll be working on this as soon as I get 100 round wins. Lol. I hate that it doesn't actually mean "rounds." I was playing LTS, thinking that all the rounds would speed it up but upon victory, I only am credited for one round
win. Oh well. Gen 8-9 gave me the time I needed to unlock all the hardware, so I'm not complaining.

 

Next gen you have to get 50 MVP wins, which takes just as long, haha.

I thought this fix might have been rolled out by now, but maybe they're going to do it when the next map pack is released.

 

I dont like the smart pistol, I think people should have to at least aim to kill someone and I dont like the generations either. I mean I like to prestige, but I am/nor have I ever been a cheevo chaser, and thats basically all you do to gen up.

 

I don't use the smart pistol as my primary weapon, but I like it. Using the non-amped version, it takes time to get the 3 locks needed to kill a pilot. You need an unbroken line of sight and for no other enemy pilots to see you. A lot of people seem to creep
up behind pilots and use it that way, which IMO is kinda pointless because if you creep up behind them with a shotgun or one of the SMGs you can kill them faster without having to wait for lock-ons, and if you come face to face with another pilot, the smart
pistol is one of the worst primary weapons in the game.

 

Unless you aim down the sights for head on engagements with pilots and only use the auto-lock when pilots are freerunning and for grunts/spectres. It still doesn't do a ton of damage, and the ironsights suck, but it can hold it's own fairly well.

That being said, I think the smart pistol is the not an ideal choice.

This hasn't been fixed yet. Its a bit upsetting. Smart pistol was how I enjoyed the game so its frustrating that's it taking a few weeks to fix I check every few days and heartbreak every time.

 

It was fixed a while ago. They patched it server side.

 

I'm not sure what the issue is here as the smart pistol works fine for me (spammy as it is), maybe it's a glitch for some users and not others?

I'd recommend contacting respawn on twitter.

 

I'm playing it now and it still has the issue of not hitting the target even though I'm locked on. I recorded a video of it not happening to make sure I want crazy. Not calling you a liar though because I wish it was the case.
