With Xbox one, I think it would be great if your smart glass device could eliminate the tv remote. And you could do things like, set the tv to record a show while your not even at home.

  5. I think the OP meant different button layouts and options for different providers, Sky, Virgin etc. Presumably because different set top boxes have different remote layouts and features. Something which I would have thought that Microsoft would have to open
up the tools to cable providers to develop their own layouts and then incorporate it in to the app.

  6. Try to see if your cable provider has a companion app that you could use on your smartphone or tablet. I have Verizon Fios and with the Fios Mobile app you can control your T.V./cable box.

My Xbox one is stuck with a display resolution of 640x480

Hello! This may be a dumb question, but do you have a remote tied specifically to that TV (Not one of those remotes TV providers would give you, but a remote that specifically came with your TV)? If so, there should be an aspect button on there or something
along those lines in which you should be able to change the screen size.
