Smart glass problem with reply

Forza Horizon is not working in Xbox smart glass any suggested please reply.

I don't get all this praise about smart glass. I've tried the smart glass on my phone and unless I'm missing something, all it does is connect to your X1 so that you can 'take over' the X1 UI. I'm talking specifically about messaging when I say this.

Is there a way to be in a game and receive a message, open it, read it and respond to it via smart glass without having to pull up the messaging app on your X1? Can you message people using smart glass 'in the background' without ever interrupting what is
happening on your console?

My experience with smart glass is as follows: Receive message in game. Hold X (or say "Xbox Read Message"). After reading message (and deciding to reply) click reply. Put down controller and grab phone, pull up smart glass and do w/e navigating you need
to in order to get your phone screen to match your Xbox screen and then use the phone's pop up KB to type your reply.

Even with my wireless KB, it's easier than that... get message, pull it up, click reply and grab KB to type. As I said, the only reason I tried smart glass to begin with is to make messaging easier which, compared to the UI, it is.

So, unless I am missing a setting somewhere or a way to use smart glass completely in the background, without interrupting what my Xbox is doing or what's on the screen... I see nothing smart about smart glass. It's nothing more than a 'second controller'
that I have to fumble around with and put down my primary X1 controller to use. My wireless KB is quicker, larger (since I'm older that helps) and easier (since I know how to type) to use and if I'm going to have to fumble around putting down one controller
to grab another just to send a message, I'll use the KB.

Hey, I've got a great idea! Why don't they give us the option to send voice messages?

I'm replying to this thtead with smart glass. I use it all the time when using IE it's way better than using a controller for typing.

Many people have reported that Xbox One Smart Glass is not working starting January 1st, 2015. Happy New Year! By the way, my friends with Android or Apple Smart Glass app don't appear to have the problem. It appears to be a problem on Windows phone and
Windows 8.1 only.

Hey I know a common solution to this problem could be that the smart glass setting on the Xbox is turned off

in My games & apps, select Settings.

Select Preferences.

In Smart Glass Connections, select the option that best meets your needs.
