Sluggish, slow. and unresponsive operating system

Is anyone else having issues with the Xbox one operating system?

Mine is having lots of problems and has been for a while. Its recently started to get worse.

Here's an example:

• I't sometimes wont log me in automatically. Then clicking sign in, the screen goes black but no option comes up. I reboot and the same thing happens
  
• Clicking join party, does nothing. The button reacts to the click but nothing happens
  
• I can't unsnap menus using voice or clicking unsnap. Have to reboot
• Clicking into a game or an app takes forever to open
• Selecting settings brings up the large settings tile but doesn't actually load the settings
  

I've tried a hard reboot, but aside from that I'm not sure what to do. I'm a little worried that something is going wrong and will end up completely knackered.

Anyone else experience this or have any advice?

still slow as he'll, just as slow as it was from all the changes of the operating system, still sluggish, still leggy, still effected by what is obviously badly optimized placeholders and images/apps/background processes, this is still not fixed, past time
the xb1 was work8ng as intended was b4 destiny 1, I've tried every preview wave since preview program launched, this needs to be fixed for millions of us, what pisses us off more is there's 1000s on mixer without any of these slow sluggish unresponsive ****
hogging our system up for no reason at all. TELL ME I'M WRONG, I flipping dare you!!!

 

The July update seems to have slowed things down

The newest Xbox one dashboard update seems to really have made stuff a lot slower when I turn the Xbox on it take 1-2 mins to load stuff of the dashboard fully and everything else also feels slower and sluggish. Please fix this Microsoft the operating
system needs some major optimization. It's never been really fast but it worked fast enough it's way slower than it should be. I'm on a Xbox one s.

 

Hmmm that's definitely strange. It could be just a problem with the OS, like you said.

I would personally try a factory reset of my console to restore the console back to its original settings completely. (This will wipe all local storage and profiles from the Xbox, including games).

I'm not saying that this will 100% work, but it's definitely something I would want to try before potentially sending it back for repairs.

 

Honestly the X1 has felt sluggish to me ever since launch. It has never felt smooth as the 360 did.

 

OP are you using Instant On? If so it's more than likely that that's causing the issues, it was broken in the last update. There are loads of threads full of people with similar problems, all being ignored by MS.

MS won't even acknowledge the problem, so nobody has any idea if they have any intention of fixing it. A hard reset will get you up and running again, but it won't fix it, it'll keep happening. You could switch to Energy Saving mode and lose the benefits
of Instant On and hope one day MS might acknowledge the problem and actually fix it.

 

I turned on mine after using it this morning and none of the tiles worked. Hard Boot fixed it, but I'm glad MS is ignoring the problem such as this, discs not loading, controllers not working. If my friends didn't have Xbox One, I'd be playing more on
my PS4

 

We were having same issue with sluggish, slow and unresponsive. After contacting microsoft, doing a factory reset, soft and hard reboot nothing worked. THEN. I located two major issues that no one has addressed at all. Microsoft wanted to charge me
115 to solve issue. Wtf! I feel they should have been informed of issue during testing or even within first year of release.

Solution. ONLY FOR SLOW, UNRESPONSIVE AND SLUGGISH!

STEP 1: FACTORY RESET

STEP 2: DELETE MAC ADDRESS!!!!. this is under your network settings. You don't need mac address and causes unresposiveness.

STEP 3: UNDER BLU RAY AND VIDEO. YOU WILL FIND A FIL UNRELATED TO BLU RAY. THINK ITS A TEMP FILE. WHY THEY WOULD STORE HERE IS UNKNOWN TO ME. IT'S A PARTITION TO BACK UP RECENT CACHE. THIS IS ONLY WAY TO DUMP TEMP FILES. GO IN TO FOLDER AND DELETE
ALL INFO.

STEP 4: HART RESET FOR 30 MINUTES. IT HAS TO BE 30 MINUTES SO THAT THE SYSTEMS BATTERY BANKS POWERADE DOWN AND RESET INTERNALY.

Why is it that all technical support ppl tell you to factory reset when a problem arises it takes a lot of precious gaming time to download AGAIN our games. Plus it does nothing this so called next generation console has let me down again and
again and again the reset mine twice in 6 months because of all the above mentioned problems at first I blamed myself or something I might have stream watched or maybe because I moved my furniture and maybe dunted it but once again the
same happens lag or matchmaking issues which I can fix the consoles interface is a sham the updates are NOT optional which is also annoying because I wouldn't thank Microsoft for any of their updates I've been a gold member 7 or 8 years
and tbh i wonder why I preferred my 360 by a long shot compared to this rip off door stopper get a grip Microsoft or I will go to Sony and I swear I can take around 30 with me because we're tired of wasting time waiting on you repairing our hobby
