Slow Xbox One download speed

Hey guys,

My brother has had his Xbox one s for a while now and I just got mine today but I seem to be having an issue with the downloading speed. My Xbox has shown a max of 13Mbps while my brothers has shown 66 when he did his test. Does anyone know a fix to this
because it's been so frustrating downloading two of the games I have. My internet works fine on all of my other devices, just slower on this Xbox. I appreciate any help given.

A main factor in the speed along with slower internet speeds is the size of the update.

Can you provide your download and upload speed from your ISP? I do not understand ".026."

DSL Internet isn't the best so you shouldn't have high expectations. Though there is a new update currently in Preview that will speed up/prioritize download speeds.

I'm always told by my Internet service provider to disconnect all devices from my network and try to download something on my main device, have yoo tried that to see if your speed still bad?

 

Both Xbox One's are connected via Ethernet. His Xbox is in a different room and we have a long cable going to it but mine is literally right beside my router in the same room and still has a poor download and upload speed yet his doesn't

How many devices are on the network? Have you tried your Xbox on a different network? This issue could be caused by a number of thing, and with networking it can be tough to pinpoint.

Your router may be giving priority to the first xbox that turns on, or the first one that connected. It's possible that your router is not powerful enough to handle multiple network heavy devices. In that case you would need to upgrade routers.

What if you actually try download something from Live. What DL speed do you see?

Ask your brother to download the same content and compare his outcome.

 

We have downloaded the same content but mine took longer when it's actually downloading it goes anywhere from 12 and under, sometimes drops to 1

 

There are only 3 devices plugged into the router and then a couple of mobiles connected via Wi-Fi. I've never had issues before and we use to have 3 Xbox's, a few laptops, tablets etc all connected and the same time. Every other device besides the Xbox
seems to work fine

 

Is your router connected to a modem? If so, could you bypass your router and make a direct connection, between the modem and your console. Run the diagnostic test and have us us know if anything has change, in regard to DL/UL speeds.

Could you also try connect your console with a different network cable.

 

This is a great point if you have a router connected to the modem.
