I was just wondering I notice that the xbox one UI is extremely slow. IS MS doing anything to fix this problem? I can become a huge annoyance, and should be a top focus for the company.

    The new interface

Just like the 360, you won't have the option to have your choice of UI. Yes the current UI is slow since everything is an app. I wouldn't let the UI sway your purchase decision.

The current UI is alright, can be a bit slow at times but not too bad.

I'm definitely stoked for the Windows 10 UI though, looking great so far Slow UI :)

I haven't noticed it at all. Have you tried restarting your system and making sure that unused apps are closed?

I have noticed last year (2014) navigating the Dashboard *using the controller* is a bit slower than navigating the 360 Dashboard using the controller. I did a comparison Youtube video between 360 and 1. Xbox 1's UI looks more like Windows 8. Not everyone
likes the Windows 8 style. Xbox 1's hardware IS better than 360 (8GB DDR3 vs 512MB GDDR3 RAM, AMD 8 core Jaguar APU vs older PowerPC 3.2 3-core CPU). It's the way they make the UI. Because the hardware is capable and shouldn't see the need to have to close
all the apps, otherwise it means Xbox 1 can't... ta da... multitask.

Of course I have closed all the apps. I have also located the best DNS for my area as well. It is just extremely slow in comparison to the ps4 and the xbox 360. Takes a long time to load snaps, friends, messages.

we have live tiles... the speed of the UI is also affected by your ISP speed... also try a hard restart on both Console and router

Hopefully they redesign the UI at some point because it isn't very functional. Snapping is a very laggy process and shouldn't be acting the way it does on a machine with these specs.

I agree. The Xbox 1 is meant to be able to "multitask". They've made some big changes to the Xbox 360 Dashboard too since I joined Xbox 360 late 2010 and I love how it is now especially when you take into account the hardware it's running on, on my Xbox
    360 slim 250gb console.

What about Xbox 1 which has better processing power faster RAM than on Xbox 360 and 8GB's of it too, and we still have Dashboard issues and having to hard reset it. It seems more of how they make the software on Xbox 1 because the hardware is capable. I'm
sure there will be new revisions of the Dashboard UI for Xbox 1, just like there was for Xbox 360. I also did a comparison video between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1's UI last year on my Youtube channel, titled Why I like the Xbox 360 UI (parts 1 and 2). You only have
to watch it in order understand. The UI is more styled around the Windows 8 feel. That's why you have to snap this and snap that. Arg Slow UI :) My ADSL Broadband speeds average 11mb/s down and 0.9mb/s up, I have Open NAT and my internet speeds pass minimum recommended
internet speeds suggested by Microsoft. I guess live tiles is a bit of a culprit, but loading friends list and messages with the controller, is clumsy with the controller compared to the Xbox 360's UI.

I do have to give some credit that there has been system improvements since the console launched November 2013, it now has more games and Xbox Live Features. But there's still room for improvement with the Dashboard.

Smile.. it took the 360 dash almost 8 years to get where it is...

Have you ever see the original blade dash on the 360??

We are only in year 1.3 for the 1.. I am sure it look 100% different by 2020

sending a simple message is INCREDIBLY SLOW!

The reason why the UI is slow is because the UI is allmost all web based, by this I mean you download from the internet all of the information that makes your UI yours. It's this that allows you to sign in to other people's Xbox One and have your UI on
    their console.

If your playing online at the time, the game will be using a lot of your bandwidth, slowing your UI down.
